  1. Hello world! I had my first HSV2 outbreak 8 years ago. The first one is the worst -- the actual outbreak hurts like hell. The outbreak itself was very tiny and localized in a small genital area. However It came with side effects I didn't expect like an acute and intense tingling sensation in my lower back, buttocks, and spread down to my feet/toes. Fast forward years. I rarely get actual outbreaks if ever. But I do experience that intense nerve pain I remember that comes before an outbreak manifests as a skin lesion. So now the outbreaks don't happen, but the prodrome pre-tingles happen often. Except now those piercing sharp tingles aren't just perceptible in the aforementioned areas. I feel it all over my body intermittently - neck, shoulders, arm, yes leg and lower back, foot, etc.. To emphasize, I never experienced any chronic pain remotely similar to "herpes tingles" pre- first HSV 2 outbreak. Several Questions: Does this pain sound familiar to you? Has it migrated outside of where it was when you first had an outbreak? When I bring this up to multiple doctors, I'm baffled that they have no idea what I'm talking about. Or don't see the connection between the nerve(?) /lymph node (?) pain / neuralgia/ paresthesia and HSV. Every time I see a "Lyrica" commercial for fibromyalgia I think to myself, "well this is fucking it. this is what I'm feeling/experiencing in my body." Is there a link between fibromyalgia and herpes? I wonder how many patients diagnosed with fibromyalgia have either HSV 1/ HSV 2/ shingles/ varicella-zoster viruses or something related? It seems to me there is a there there. But I also feel I'm being gas lit by the world and that in general researchers / HCPs are too "embarrassed" to even commit to research around the "not talked about" symptoms of HSV; or even HSV in general. How can herpes be so "common" and yet not a single medical professional is conversant in the totality of the disease or specializing in it? >_< Not related, but where can I purchase acyclovir cream? That stuff is like contraband in the USA lol. ugh this country sucks in this arena.

    Drunk and Dumb

Ok so.... i was very drunk last night and I started fooling around with a boy who doesn’t have the HSV2 virus... We “dry” humped and I mean he had a Condom on and my vaginal lips are quit large so my vagina wasn’t too exposed.. and then I remember him inserting his penis in, but only once and I said “no” so he stopped but then we continued to fool around.. i just want to know what are the chances of him contacting HSV2 if there was a condom on and I didn’t have any Out Breaks etc.... Help me SOS
  3. Since May I have been taking Valtrex. At first it was 500mg once a day then it increased to 1000mg once a day in June after frequent outbreaks persisted. I've had a total of 9 outbreaks since May and was diagnosed with hsv2 in March of this year. The past three weeks I've had severe dizziness, especially when lying down and getting up in the mornings. Today my doctor suggested taking acyclovir 400mg twice a day. Has anyone switched from acyclovir to valtrex and experienced better results/less breakouts?

    I gave my partner herpes

I gave my partner oral herpes but I haven’t told him yet. I was just diagnosed 2 days ago. A little background, I’m a normal 20 something year old. I have been having sex with my partner for about 7 months now. When we first started messing around it was more so of a thing that “just happened” (protection was used) around this time he was also talking to another girl as well. We eventually just started hanging out more and we got closer. We’re together all the time, even though we never actually said we were boyfriend and girlfriend. Back in june I was raped by my boss ( he didn’t use protection) I told my partner and we’ve been working through the problem together. My roommate also told me after 2 months of living together that she has type 2 herpes. I was only frustrated with her because she didn’t tell me before we moved in. Not that it would have changed anything, just that I would have taken better precautions because we share practically everything. I was open with him about me feeling sore down there before I went for a check up. We both thought that I just had gotten a cut from rough sex. He performs oral on me often and he told me how he saw the “cuts” as well but he still proceeded to perform oral a little until i told him it felt too uncomfortable. After that incident we haven’t been having sex until I felt better. (I’m pretty sure that’s the moment I passed my virus on.) I took it upon myself to look at my “cuts” in a hand mirror and it looked too serious to just be from rough sex. I’m not sure if my roommate, him, or my rapist passed it on or maybe I have had it and not known. I just really don’t know how to tell him. The hardest part about having this is that I can pass it on. I just feel so low. And now all I can think about is my rapist and how he could have possibly gave it to me. I ruined my partners life and I’ve been trying to build the courage to tell him.
  5. Every time I have sex, the foreskin of my penis swells. It looks like a donut around the head, and I’m circumcised. Tonight, I noticed red splotches that weren’t there earlier today. They are one the shaft, but most have appeared on my scrotum. I know I need to get tested anyway, but i’ve Been trying to self diagnose and it’s driving me crazy. Somethings say it’s balantis.. but that could just be a yeast infection.. but can also be caused by herpes.. the spots haven’t formed into blisters, but they literally appeared out of nowhere. A few weeks ago, I had experienced a rather intense irritation of the head and foreskin, and that’s when the swelling started.. the glans was extremely sensitive, there was major swelling and redness, and a few raised bumps.. but nothing that popped or leaked fluid. Also inside the glans looked white, like dead skin cells.. but there was no discharge, but did effect the stream of urine and made it hard and painful to pee. All those symptoms are now gone.. with the exception of the swelling. And the red spots are new.
  6. Hello everyone. I've never joined a forum before so I am curious to meet you all. Here's some background: My ex-bf gave me genital herpes back in 2010 - it passed from his cold sore through oral sex (neither of us had any idea that this could happen - we were only 20 years old). I was diagnosed with GHSV-1. I had really awful symptoms this first time - I was really ill for around 10-14 days with muscular pain, tiredness and huge lesions on my vagina (even the doctors were shocked when they saw it!) that have even left some scarring. I initially went through all the feelings that everyone else on here has described: anxiety, fear, shame, guilt... I was very depressed, upset, "why me?" etc. When my boyfriend and I broke up (for unrelated reasons) around 9 months later, I became very sad and scared again that I would never be able to meet anyone else that would want to sleep with me, let alone be my life partner. As I started educating myself, however, I felt a little better about it (GHSV-1 is milder, reoccurrences are rarer, they get less severe with time etc.) I was told by the sexual health nurse that if I didn't get a second outbreak in 1-2 years, the likelihood was that I would never have another one again. I got on with my life and started to forget about it. I am fairly open about having herpes when it comes up in discussion with friends, passing it off as something happened to me back when I was 20, but isn't part of my life any more. Now, exactly 8 years on, after spending the weekend at a music festival (so running on low batteries and lack of sleep), I've gotten another outbreak. Smaller and less severe for sure, but tender, painful, very itchy and uncomfortable... and I am in total shock. I'm worried about the following things: - Has this 'opened the floodgates'? Will I now start getting more outbreaks more frequently, or is the likelihood that I won't get another outbreak for another 8 years, or more? - I know the outbreak occurred when I was run down.. but really, no more than I occasionally get two or three times a year (from working too hard, going out too late etc.).. so why this time? Will this happen every time/more often when I go to a festival or something from now on? - This outbreak has been accompanied by quite bad lower back pain and constipation (although this could also be because I started my period at the same time) - has anyone else experienced these symptoms? I'd love to know if anyone out there also had a break of around 5-10 years with no symptoms - and whether their next outbreak after that was sooner or later than that. Thank you to everybody for your input and support. I hope I can help others too with info about my story.

    Freaked out my partner?

I've had a grant total of one sexual partner and from him, I contracted genital herpes. I made sure to tell him immediately upon being diagnosed, but just recently (it's been a few months since the diagnosis) we had our first real discussion about my herpes. He started to freak out a little bit, and he was scared since we had sex without a condom, that now he has it, and he's wondering how the heck he got it, and just generally he was bugging about it. He never even knew he had it until I contracted it myself, so I guess he's still coming to terms with it? Anything I could do to help him?
  8. Dear all, first of, i’m thankful I found this website. I’ve been diagnosed with genital warts a few months back since April and it hasn’t been pleasant. As I was doing my treatment for genital warts, immediately as I went home I realised some small bumps which then immediately turned into huge yellow ulcers that really hurts like shit. Hence I went back to my doctor the next day and she was surprised as well, 1. Is there a chance of contacting genital herpes from oral sex? 2. I do not have any blisters Nor rashes but these sores does hurts and pee-ing is just terrible, it burns so much. 3. How do one survive with being diagosed with herpes? 4. Any chances of soothing the huge sores that i’ve have? 5. I’ve been given some anti-vira medication, any idea how Long does the outbreak takes? 6. Does that means there’ll be no more unprotected sex from now on as I might pass this virus to my partner? 7. Pretty sure I’ve gotten it from this Australian guy, but I haven’t been able to tell him to go for a check up and all. Please feel free to give me suggestions and ideas on this thread as i’m In a lost now and have completely no idea what’s the next step. I can’t seem to upload the photos of the sore here, so if anyone could help, please let me know as i’m Desperate to clear the pain.

Wondering if anyone in Brooklyn is interested in chatting? Meeting up? Or just share info about OB management, lifestyle tips, support groups etc. I'm brand new to this & looking for some connections to help me (& others like me) not feel so alone.
  10. My boyfriend and I had semi rough sex about 4 days ago. After the 3rd day I had some pretty bad pain, swelling, itchiness, light bleeding and pain when urinating. I’ve also noticed I have to go pee a lot more. On the fourth day it felt a little better, not as bad pain when urinating or none at all, the pain and itch isn’t as bad and swelling is gone but I still took a look and found these white circles with redness around them, they’re the only thing that hurts now besides urinating. I still have to go pee a lot though unfortunately, and the bleeding has increased a little. They’re on the vaginal opening and there’s multiple ones. That’s the only place where they are and I’ve never experienced anything like this before! Could this be herpes or from the friction? I would love to post a picture but every picture I take is too big to post

    Wanted your opinion

Hi guys, I think I've gotten genital herpes and have been going through the forum for sometime now. I am guessing my sores have broken down and there are scabs now. Thinking of getting a test in 2 weeks. I did take acyclovir and it helped bring down lymph swelling. I had that weird tingling effect too which seems to have reduced. All after I started acyclovir so I am guessing it's hsv. Would like to know your opinion too.

    Feeling extremely sad

A couple days ago, just before the weekend, I noticed what looked like ulcers. They were internal and external. Everytome I tried to wee the pain led me to tears, I started filling a bath tub up to try help the pain but it didn’t do much walking was a struggle and even to sit on a chair. I rang my work and said I have a water infection, and have stayed in my room crying in pain. I go on holiday Friday so I’m even more upset, I can’t bare to tell my mum. I am only 19 and have a loving boyfriend who understands the situation and is supportive. I booked an emergency appointment to go to the doctors as soon as Monday came around and after painful swabs and examinations, they suspected Herpes. I was already waiting to hear that so showed little emotion until I reached my car. They gave me a 5 day course of Aciclovir which I have started today. I have ulcers at the back of my throat causing pain and difficulty swallowing. Everything seems to be going down hill I thought it was easing off as it wasn’t as swollen downstairs just most the pain in my mouth. However today, the pain seems to have came back a bit more however peeing is easier. Along with this I have been experiencing never ending watery yellow discharge, I carry a towel around with me and sleep on one too. When will the discharge stop. Today the discharge has been coming out more of a grey whitish colour sometimes looking a bit red maybe from a spilt ulcer inside? I am a person who worries tremendously which doesn’t help. My wee has a awful smell to it and can be very yellow dispite drinking plenty. I have had ulcers appear on my anus yesterday which is another pain to the situation. Also red little bumps around my groin and a cluster in my stomach but I did shave that area so not sure which it is. I really hope these tablets work I don’t know how much longer I can take, I feel so disgusting. The tablets have made me feel slightly off but nothing I can’t handle, anyone have similar experience to me? Any advice too? Thanks.

    Need Help..

Hi, new member here needing some clarity. About two months ago I had some clear discharge with some painful urination. I went to the doctor with certainty I had an STD. My doctor prescribed me an antibiotic to clear everything up. The test results came back and they were all negative. After a month past I noticed some tingling in my penis and a tiny bit of discharge. But not as much as before. So I went back to a different doctor and explained everything. He ran more tests and decided to test me for herpes. I’ve had HSV 1 since birth so I was aware of outbreaks and such. The test results came back positive for HSV 2. I was floored. Ive been in a frenzy since receiving my results. I’m always checking my penis to see if there are any sores/lesions. Recently I went to the beach and went swimming. I went back to my hotel room to shower and when I was urinating I looked down to what appeared we’re small abrasions on my the head of my penis. I’ve never had symptoms which I know is pretty common. But they just appeared all of a sudden. No blisters, no fever, or painful urination, no pain at all. And within 24 hours it looks as if it’s already scabbing. I have to say when I pulled off my swim trunks there were 3 small tiny seashells on my penis. So I was wondering if they could have scraped me while I was in the water. I feel that’s highly unlikely though. If someone could lend their expertise or advice it would be greatly appreciated.
  15. Hello I recently had protected sex with someone. A few hours after I noticed two pimples and another small spot. I popped the pimples but now I have three bumps on my penis. I don't know what they are. They don't hurt and they're not lesions but they're something. I dont know if these are infected fordyce (from the condom/friction) or if it's herpes. I'm out of state so I can't even get tested for a week max.
  16. Hi, My humble request to any/all the members, kindly look at the picture and let me know if you have any suggestible comments that might help me. Is this herpes or something else? This burns a lot. My symptoms seem to escalate every now and then. I am a male with positive hsv2. Now I even have a large bump just alongside the anus entry. It's tough to sit/walk. I feel like my life is hell. Please help.
  17. Hey all, Some people have posted about Tenofovir before - I found an article today that confirms a reduction in transmission with use of the gel. Medical Article: http://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMc1511338?af=R&rss=currentIssue Other articles giving a succinct report: http://www.capahc.com/en/tenofovir-gel-for-the-prevention-of-herpes-simplex-virus-type-2-infection/ http://www.medicaldaily.com/tenofovir-gel-may-lower-risk-herpes-simplex-virus-type-2-women-voice-results-308099 Due to the nature of the product, I thought it better to put this post under the "Prevention" thread. Cheers!
  18. Hello! So I have been having minor UTI symptoms that come and go. A little urgency to pee. But nothing crazy uncomfortable. And a small tingling feeling in the vagina. That comes and goes. Again nothing that causes me to wanna take meds. I got tested for UTI, and it was negative. Than I noticed this in the shower this morning. It doesn't itch or hurt. Just a little sensitive to the touch. Its on the right side of the area where the anus and vagina meet. Please! help would be greatly appreciated
  19. It was on the 12th of August, 2015 when I realized or had my first out break. Few days before that day (August 12th), I went to a friends birthday party, I had so much alcohol, I was happy then I met this girl, she was kinda alone and me! Feeling like a superstar wanted to cheer her up. So we talked and I gave her some alcohol, she was so much excited and we danced, hugged and even cuddled while dancing. Then she told me she was tired she needed to seat she asked if we could take a walk away from the party. Whom am I to say no, after all she is very pretty and sexy, I took her to a nearby uncompleted building, she asked if she could smoke? I said yes sure feel free. She smoked we had some more drinks, then it happened. We had unprotected sex in that building, although I deed the withdrawal method, hoping and feeling everything is ok. To cut short the story, I started noticing some bumps like objects on and around my penis. To be honest, I was so scared there was nothing that didn't Cross my mind including HIV. I browsed the net for clues or similar symptoms, I became all the more confused. The out break and symptoms lingered for weeks, on the 4th of October I summoned the courage to see a doctor, he examined me and suggested a couple of test. I ran the tests and it was confirmed, I had been infected with Herpes Virus. He then prescribed some drugs for me, which I bought and took according to the prescription. 1 and 1/2 weeks later the symptoms cleared and the itching stopped, I took the complete dose just to be sure and it seems like all was ok. By the end of November I noticed a fresh out break again, I went back the doctor he asked me to buy the same and continue the medication, he added that that's herpes for you, just when you think they are gone, they reappear. While taking the drugs the doctor adviced me to avoid alcohol and other substance that may weaken my immune system, it then means I was also suffering from weak or low immune system because as at when I did the test, my white blood cell count was 5700 it was a bit low. This means I had to take my drugs regularly to keep the out break away. To sum up my story, I travelled to the village on the 23rd of December for a burial arrangement. In the course of the event I was discussing with my uncle then I opened up to him and shared my experience. That was when he mentioned moringa leaf and seeds to me, he went into his house brought out a small plastic can filled with moringa seeds, he said I should eat about 4 to 5 seeds three times a day, then take about 3 ounces of dried moringa leave add to a kettle and boil, after boiling I should just drink it like a normal green tea. I spent my remaing days of the festive season in the village, while taking my moringa seeds and tea. I returned to the city with a hand full of seeds and leaves and continued my moringa therapy for the next 3 months. On the first week of April 2016 I decided to take another test, the test result came out and this time my white blood cell count was 8600, although the HSV is still there but I haven't noticed or had any out breaks since I started taking the moringa seeds and leaf. Today is the 27th of July, 2018 and I am glad to say that I havent noticed any out breaks since then and I have not been taking any HSV drugs as well. more so, I am proud to say that I am a father to a lovely beautiful baby girl. Although at first I was scared if my girl friend had been infected because I didn't have the nerves to tell her and she was begining to get upset of my frequent use of condoms. So I stopped using the condoms and we had intercourse, and the result is a lovely beautiful baby girl, while we were at the hospital I requested that a test be carried out on her, LO and BEHOLD she was and is still HSV negetive. So my dear lovely people, please don't beat yourself over this, it is most certainly not the end of anything in your life, all you guys need to do is boost your immune system naturally to fight the virus from the inside. Anywhere you find yourselves, please kindly look for moringa seeds and leaf, chew at least 4-5 seeds a day and if you can get the leaf, take two cups of the tea in the morning and two cups in the evening and all will be well with you. Thank you all, remain bless hendrick.laama@gmail.com

    Blood in blisters?

When the herpes genital blisters burst away, it is common to have blood in them alongwith some pus? FYI...the bump was there just near the anus entry. Any idea anyone?
  24. I contracted GHSV1 from an ex over a year ago. I haven't had an outbreak since the first one. My doctor told me the first year is usually the worst & prescribed me Valtrex 500mg, which I take, but not consistently everyday...I have missed at least a week. Especially since I do not have outbreaks, or have sex I just choose not to take it every day. So here is my problem, and I feel really terrible. I've been dating this guy who works in the medical field...we had a discussion about herpes one day, and he said it wasn't a big deal to him. That would've been the perfect opportunity to tell him, but I was scared. So fast forward I spent the night at his place...one thing lead to another we ended up having sex. He got up to grab a condom, but I didn't find out until after he was done that he decided not to put the condom on. Then afterwards he says ", You better be good, because I just got tested and everything was negative." Which is true, minus herpes because his doctors have never tested him for it. So its been on my mind ever since, and I don't know how to tell him I have HSV1. I'm such an idiot..I should know better. I thought he put the condom on, and that just makes everything much worse.
  25. Looks like there is now a site that's in English selling Amenalief (amenamevir) for the rock bottom price of about $95.43 USD a day. ($668 shipped for 14 x 200mg pills at 400mg/ daily dose). Amenalief is one of the helicase primase-inhibitor class of drugs that has been around for the better part of a couple decades, but has just recently made it to market in Japan. Pritelivir is also a member of this drug class. For those that have less than stellar results from current antivirals, helicase primase-inhibitors are likely to offer a relatively impressive improvement in quality of life assuming you can afford the ongoign cost of using them suppressively (needless to say they are NOT a cure). As a side note, the FDA blocked further testing of Pritelivir back in 2013, so in case you're wondering why you cannot buy this class of drugs as a consumer at your local pharmacy for a more reasonable price using your prescription drug plan, you owe a large thanks to the FDA for your being forced to weight your physical and emotional HSV-related damages against the cost of this treatment. If anyone out there is independently wealthy, willing to order an antiviral drug from a Japanese company, and would be so kind as to report back with their experiences taking Amenalief suppressively, I'm sure many of your fellow sufferers would be extremely thankful! https://www.mimaki-family-japan.com/item/detail?item_prefix=TF&item_code=705711&item_branch=001
