  1. Hey, everyone, I wasn't sure where else to post but I'm hoping to reach out to other people in a similar situation to myself (Muslim with herpes). I'd just like to find someone who I can talk to maybe and find out how they've dealt with it and their experiences so far. So, I found out last week through a private blood test that I have herpes. It felt like my entire future shattered before me and I actually couldn't even cry on the first day, I was just in so much shock. It was only the next day that I found myself, just crying randomly out of nowhere. I had thought i was clean and free from any STDs as I had taken a blood test at an NHS sexual health clinic however it turned out that they don't include the herpes blood screen as most people are asymptomatic and they want to reduce the stigma attached with herpes. At first, I thought ignorance would have been bliss in this situation as most people will have herpes but not be told that they have it unless they take a private blood test or show symptoms. But then, I just thought that I could be passing it onto other people and what made me scared the most was about passing it onto family members, especially young children like young niece and nephew who I've kissed and potentially put at risk. I feel so paranoid when I'm near young babies now and try to keep my distance, I've seen pictures in article about a newborn baby was kissed by someone with herpes and their eye has swollen up. Islamically, you're not allowed to marry a person without telling them you have herpes. I was just wondering if there were any Muslims would have been able to get married and how they found their spouse. Also, a general question that I wanted to ask everyone? How do I deal with the paranoia of passing on herpes to others? I've been very careful about washing anything I've used like glasses and cutlery, like scrubbing them thoroughly with soap.

  3. Salaam Aleikum wr wb brothers and sisters! It makes me so happy to discover this site. Finding muslims give me soooo much hope, Allhamdullilah. But Im also very curious if there are any somali people out here. I haven't (Living with this for almost 8 years) never met a somali person. I live in Stockholm, Sweden. The muslim community is not so big. We are many muslims but we are not united, subhanaAllah. Sweden has a population of 10 miljons. The muslims are exactly 143 950 people in the whole country Ive lived with this in secret. It burdens me and creates so much fear of loneliness. The first years I use to get depressed but these past years I have accepted my fate. Perhaps I will never marry. Today Im more hopeful and understand that times are changing. Salaam / Best regards Anisa

    Muslim with Herpes

I'm new on here, new to herpes and i am a Muslim Male. Looking to find out if i can help myself to find a partner, or can help others in a similar dilemma. Our culture and religion has not tackled the issue well... there's a huge gulf. Id like to try and help myself and others to reach out and lets see where it goes.

  8. Assalaam Alaikum Brothers and Sisters, I just just signed up and thought this is worth a try in helping me InshaAllah I am hoping this website will help me in my search. I reverted last year to Islam. Alhamdulillah. However, I am living with hsv2 after contracting it from an ex who never told me. I am very embarrassed by this virus and I prefer to marry someone who has the same situation InshaAllah. I believe it's easier for me. It decreases the chances of me being rejected, I believe. I am Black. 31yrs young hehe Never married. Have no kids. Living in Toronto, Canada. My ideal match would be male (28-35yro) who also resides in Canada. I'm not sure if there's a forum already on this subject. My apologies in advance. Allah Hafiz.
