So I made it to month four without a visible sign of an outbreak. I had a really bad outbreak in the ending of April and was diagnosed with GHSV1. My initial outbreak took about a month to heal and left scars (a lighter pigmentation from my overall complexion on my genitals). Sadly I have been ridiculously paranoid to the point I have taken two 7 day treatments of Valtrex. More than likely it was probably just yeast infections (I get them way more than I should, even before getting hsv). I also take lysine twice a day and three times a day when I feel like an outbreak is coming on. I’ve been applying tea tree to my genitals everyday since getting diagnosed to dry out any potential outbreaks that are present that I possibly mistake for an ingrown hair. When does the worrying stop? How often have anyone on this forum with GHSV1 get outbreaks? What’s are some good tips and tricks?
Hello all, I have been getting outbreaks every month for the past few years. I would get them during or right after my period. My outbreaks consist of very tiny bumps that do not blister, however they would form tiny scabs. I started to use rubbing alcohol, which definitely healed them very quickly, however I have been looking for more of a preventative. I read another thread on here about Tea Tree oil and decided to give it a shot. During the time I would normally have an outbreak, I used undiluted Tea Tree oil (around 8 drops). I rubbed it on my outer labia (where I get outbreaks) and a little on my inner thigh area to play it safe. I applied it both morning and night the week of my period. This month it prevented my outbreak. Holy crap did that make me happy. I am going to continue to apply it every night. During my periods, I will apply it morning and night. I will update next month as well to report if it worked again. I hope this will work for some of you as well!
