Bathing with baby

Recommended Posts

softpink

I was wondering if it is safe for me to bath with my daughter?? I haven't but would like to. I am unsure if there is any risk to her. If there is ANY risk to her, I will not do it. I wanted to get some words of advice from you all.

Thank!

Yes, there is some risk. Some say virus survives longer in water - some others say soap kills it - I would be very cautious here as I wound kill myself if I did anything that puts my child at any risk to get herpes from me. Please do not bathe with your daughter

softpink,

As with anything in life there are risks, I do believe that bathing with your daughter is a small risk to her, but my opinion on that would be why temp fate in anyway with this virus it is tricky. I just would not take the chance . I know that if you had an active outbreak that risk would definately go up alot. By what percent I do not know. I wish you well and take care.

I have always looked forward to bathing with my children as my mother did with me when I was little, however... I will not. I would never take the risk of giving this aweful virus to her!!!!! Thanks for your answers!!! I am sad, but didn't want to tempt anything if there was even a tenth of a chance she may get this!

My dr said it was okay to bath with my son-but then my general dr just a few days ago said I DID not have herpes on my nipples, and the next day the obgyn said I did, so....

I don't have herpes on my nipples, I have it on my genitals.

Don't know if there is a difference. I will have to run this question past my doc and my daughters pediatrician.

PesPes, there is no cure. You can treat symptoms and try to prevent outbreaks, but you will always have the virus and be able to pass it along. There is NO CURE at this point.

Based on the sheet below, it would be around 10% per year without condoms with no active outbreaks. With condoms, 5.2% and condoms and antiviral therapy combined around 1.5-2.5%  https://herpesopportunity.com/downloads/herpes-opportunity-disclosure-handout.pdf

So is there anyone that has tried this for which Valtrex/Acyclovir/Famvir doesn't work and have constant symptoms and problems?   It's expensive but if like 1 pill a week would work it would be worth it.....Trying to figure out if this works for people that the current AV's don't...

Hi just wanted to share someone I found on Youtube who I think gives really good and honest herpes advice. She is an STD life coach who has had genital herpes for 9 years: https://m.youtube.com/channel/UC8AkCfC9_bcCvI7-sixkLJg/videos   Also check out Ella Dawson if you haven't yet seen her videos or website. Cheers:)
