Question about wheat & grains?

10 posts in this topic

I have been doing my research on lysine and arginine in foods, etc. It looks like wheat, brown rice, pasta, etc. are all relatively high in arginine. I am curious if folks know about other grains out there... I have not been able to figure out if white rice, barley, quinoa, spelt, etc. are also high in arginine. I am trying to figure out the "better" grains to select. I live in a place where rice is a staple...and am curious if perhaps white rice is ok.

Also, what about other starch choices? I see that potatoes are high in arginine. What about bread--looks like this might be one to avoid altogether. What are other good starch/grain choices out there?

If anyone has any resources, etc. about arginine and lysine in grains...or other carbs/starch, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

ONe of the charts someone recommended says that sprouted wheat bread and brown rice are low acidic. white rice and anything with wheat or white flour is acidic.

I can't give up ww bread. I need it for sandwiches for work

Amaranth, wild rice, millet ane quinoa are alkaline. I do not know what most of these are though.

Potatoes on the chart listed on this site have lysine higher than arginine.

I eat teff which is high in lysine. As far as I know it is the only grain which is high in lysine. I can eat two 100% teff muffins or pancakes with no problems at all.

I also eat carrots and parsnips.

All grains are high in arginine, except teff.

Sweet potatoes are almost half and half lysine/argnine.

hi you guys,

what is teff and where do you get it??

Also, which one is the lesser of 2 evils? Brown rice bread or whole wheat bread?

This website is helpful as a reference to some grains and seeds which are high in Lysine: All about grains

Most grains will have a large amount of arginine, but it can be okay in moderate amounts if balanced with a decent amount of lysine.

I dont think quinoa is good for us. I am trying to figure out if I can have white rice instaed of brown? and how to balance it out with veggies to fight the arginine.

Quinoa is good, it is alkaline and it is higher in lysine than arginine.

Brown grains are always better than white, however, almost all grains are higher in arginine than lysine so you have to be carefull. As with everything, enjoy it in moderation - eat lots of veggies at the same time and you should be good to go.

If you can find a sprouted grain bread (and other items), that is very good as it is alkaline, though I am not to sure what the lysine/arginine content is. I haven't had a problem with it and it is very tasty.

Fuck. So I went 2 months without an OB and thought things were going great. One day Idrank a couple drops of oregano oil in water and the next morning was my first ob in months.   I had read that oregano oil can actually trigger an ob... So maybe that is true. But since an OB is already underway, I figured some topical oregano oil might help. I dissolved some oregano oil into some rubbing alcohol and applied that to the affected area. I figured that you want to dry out a blister, not moisturize it...so instead of using orenago oil in olive oil, I decided to try the alcohol. Well, I do not know for sure that the two are connected....but just now I go to look at my member, cause it was itching a bit near the base and there it is--the largest cluster of blisters I've had yet.    Up till now all of my ob's have been in the same region--but this one is way over on the other side of my cock. Damn. I'd been using the rubbing alcohol with oregano oil for the past day or so, and thought it was getting better. These new blisters just popped up within the past couple hours--they weren't there when I showered just 3 hours ago.

Did they do a blood test or a swab test? Right now you only have a visual diagnosis. The doctor is probably right but they need to do other tests.

Yes, I exercise 5 days a week, I went to an homeopathic doctor and they take a blood sample and analyze it, he told me that the only problem is that I'm currently low on defenses,  so he gave me treatment for a month,  and asked me to drink more fruits and veggie juices,  and that I should be fine.  I've actually toned it down with the vitamins and supplements (just taking probiotics and super lysine + pills), and I've been noticing that I'm not that swollen (I had a very swollen labia majora only on my right side,  which my gyno did not give any importance to..  But I did)  so that's a good sign for me! And my right lymph node has gone back to normal too,  also wanted to add that Manuka honey really works on healing sores faster,  and the super lysine + ointment works great too

There is plenty of info on here about hsv. Genital h includes the anus.  Herpes is one of those things that can easily happen. A lot of people dont even know they have it and spread it.  Worry about dating once you get used to and accept h.  Many people have oral h.  There are risks and really if the guy wants to take the risk it doesnt matter.  You might meet someone with it anyway. Disclosing is nerve racking but i know of many positive outcomes. Just dont assume someone will run.  You dont know their situation or their views on it. And dont beat yourself up.  You cant change it so just focus on learning about it and moving forward.  It doesnt change who you are
