It Happened to Me

GodIsMerciful

Often when I read the posts in the dating and relating section, I try to imagine how this would be if it happened to me. Well today herpes came up in a conversation with a guy who I have known for a while although we've just begun to speak on more of a potential relationship type of situation. He's even jokingly talked about marriage, but I'm still young and all that stuff. Anyway, he stated that one of his mentors/ a person he looks up to came to work with a "fever blister" he is a jokester so he told him that he needed some valtrex and they all just laughed it off. I was almost speechless because I wasn't expecting it. I said something to the effect of shit happens. He really didn't sound totally disgusted, but I definitely didn't bring up my situation. The conversation ended shortly after, that and I was happy. I'm not sure how to proceed. We don't live in the same state, so I will not see him or any time soon, but I would like to dig further into his understanding of the herpres virus and how he feels about the situation. I wonder if this will make the conversation easier, because someone he admires has herpes. I'll have to see what happens, but I know I'm not ready to tell anyone yet, I'm still dealing with it myself, but I will if things get more serious, which I'm in no rush to do. Okay well, I'll go know, but that was really crazy and unexpe:octed.

Situations like yours happens pretty often. You have no obligation to tell anyone, especially when you are not ready to do it. You don't need any negative judgment from others. Probably you are still beating yourself.

I hope that you stopped. But you didn't want to do this and it is your right.

Hi, I have the exact same thing and have been to a gp and sexual health clinic and it hasn’t been resolved. Did you get any answers?

a week ago, I went to lab and get my test done for STD. everything is clear on the test except HSV 1.   Ranges are  <0.90 - Negative 0.90-1.09 - Equivocal >1.09 - Positive   And My result for HSV 1 seems to be too high    it is HSV 1 IGG, TYPE SPECIFIC AB 56.90 H ( OUT OF RANGE ) I was paid for this test (full std) everything came back negative except hsv 1, after I seen the result, I called my doctor to made an appointment to discuss this matter. I will most likely request a test from my doctor and have him to check this out.  It's been 3 years I was in USA and had sex just a couple times.   I never had unprotected sex since like 10 years. I was in USA for 3 years now and like i said never had sex unprotected almost for 10 years. Received oral for 5-6 times.   Here is the picture :  The purple marks on my legs are stretch marks due of doing weight lifting. I do have so many of them on my body. As you see in the picture, they are FLAT. not like a bump or pimple. I checked so many pictures on internet but I think mines don't look like herpes but I just want to know your thoughts about this.
