well here is my story. I was one of those crazy teenagers who thought sex was the greatest thing. I mean I was just a little bit on the permiscuous side...I never ever contracted anything. Always got checked.. Then I decided to go clean and stop acting crazy because it was not getting me anywhere. Was single for awhile and then I met a guy who I will never forget. We clicked and it was odd but were like immediate best friends. Then one day we just locked lips. I will never forget that moment lol I was braiding his hair when it happened. 7 months later we are still happy, never got into a fight yet, ...kissing is always good...until about a week later i woke up and my lips felt sooo wierd. I looked in the mirror and was horrified!! Clusters of bumps all over my lips, they were HUGE...i Was like MOM!!! It kept on flaring up. Went to the doctor. avoided my boyfriend. ..You have Herpes...Noooo. It was an agonizing 3 weeks. My boyfriend after the fact tells me that he didnt know it was serious and that he could transmit it (he is asymptomatic) after all the Doctor just told him he had cold sores. So me being the curious one, looked up everything....forgave him and stayed..i have recurrences all the time though, are not noticable to the naked eye. But my point is, even the people who you think are the best, may have something wrong! All i had to do was ask. I didnt. Ask before you even kiss! Get the papers from the Doctors! lol. I am currently single, but I have let someone else into my life, who is very understanding. Its not really an impediment. Herpes genital or oral is just a small part of who you are. Dont think less of yourself because of it. Yes you may be part of the Statistic. But you are part of a LARGE statistic!! 1 in 5 people have it! Knowing or non-knowing. So come on, be real, it could happen to anybody. lol. God Bless.
