Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

endeavor

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else tried HBOT? I am only interested in conversing with 1) individuals who have been in the tank and have had a history of herpes, 2) is an active scuba diver with herpes or 3) is a doctor with an interest in pursing HBOT as a cure for herpes, 4) is in a unique position which may allow them to have access to individual in the medical community who would be willing to pursue HBOT as a cure.

Please do not post negative messages about HBOT unless you have herpes and have actually received HBOT for six hours or more and would like to convince me that it does not work. As far as I am concerned no one is qualified to offer an opinion on HBOT unless you are 1) a physician or 2) have gone through the procedure.

Please forgive my curtness, I truly hope someday everyone will be cured and am striving to achieve this goal. No one here needs the negativity.

This subject has been discussed many times here. This is the most direct post we have had re: the subject that I can find, it was a while ago, but this person may check in, or maybe has left an address somewhere in the thread.

http://www.herpes-coldsores.com/messageforum/viewtopic.php?t=3&start=0

I'm a little ticked about your curtness frankly - this is a place where we support each other - not treat each other so coldly - but in efforts to help, as we do here, I will help as I can and I would appreciate and words of wisdom you can share in the future.

There are alot of scared people who can benefit by your knowledge and help - as well as a great bunch of wonderful people who are here to help each other, I hope you can respect and appreciate both sides of that.

Sincerely,

Lasmom

I wrote the original message on this site regarding HBOT. It was met with quite a bit of skepticism. Frankly, I became quite tired of people on this site saying HBOT doesn't work when they have never had a single treatment. I haven't met one individual here who has been in the tank. I have no patience for individuals who want to do nothing more than challenge new ideas and concepts. Individuals with those beliefs, behaviors and opinions are close minded individuals who will never believe in a cure unless a pharmaceutical sells it to them. My original message started many people looking more into HBOT, oxygen therapy and ozone, which you can read about all over this site. I have my own opinions about ozone and regular oxygen therapy but will reserve them because I have had no experience with either and cannot offer a valid opinion.

What I am looking for is an individual who has herpes and has undergone HBOT, not just several fifteen minute sessions but Airforce Tables plus two extensions (that amounts to six hours in the tank). I am trying to find someone who can prove or disprove it's effects on the virus.

Sorry I P.O.'d you but I HAVE supplied a great deal of information to this site. In some cases it was well received and for others it was a real waste of time. So I am simplifying my

Dear Guest(Please read)~

I have found someone who is willing to administer the same exact protocol to me as you had in efforts to find a cure and as a case study. Also, it is a very well-renowned clinic. I simply have to tell him the protocol that worked for you Will you please tell me exactly how you were treated. If this works then I will tell everyone where they can go to get it done as well, as it might be the adopted standard there. Thanks a lot!!! For those of you who don't believe this is a cure, there is an outstanding amount of medical research that would prove you otherwise.

HBOT

WILLAMETTE:

Tell your clinician that the protocol that was used on me was United States Air Force (USAF) Table 6 plus two extensions. This amounts to six hours beginning at 60+ feet of hyperbaric pressure. They will put you in a tank and put you under the pressure of a simulated 60 + feet of water pressure. From there they will SLOWLY bring you back to suraface pressure. WHILE DOING THIS YOU SHOULD BREATH pure oxygen for fifteen minutes and off of oxygen for five minutes. This is done all the way back to normal pressure.

Tell them it is the standard treatment for the "BENDS" (also known by the name decompressioin sickness). If they are a reputable organization they will know what you are taking about and what protocol to follow.

When you get out of the tank you will feel the best that you ever have. Someone will be in the tank with you the whole time. As long as the individuals in charge of this operation are competent you will be completely safe but it must be done by individuals who know what they are doing.

If they are only putting you in the tank for 15 minutes at a time or anything less than airforce table 6 plus 2 extensions I cannot assure you it will work. Best of luck. Keep in touch here and keep me updated of how it works for you. I will be very interested in your experience. If you follow this protocol you will never have another outbreak again. Once you have completed this and have documentation I would really like to meet you in person to talk more about it and track your results.

Hey everyone,

I just want you to know that things are still in progress, I just got back vacation from Hawaii, ...so it was on hold for awhile. I am in the process of faxing paperwork and doing all of that kind of stuff because it a more evasive procedure as you all know so the physician wants to make sure everything is sound and he knows exactly what I want because I told him that it wasn't worth it to me to receive anything less than the protocol everyone on this site has so graciously provided me, because there was no guarantees and I would not spend the money unless I was confident this is in fact a cure. I will keep you all updated and I dearly hope that after I give this a try and this clinic can see my results that they will open it to all HSV sufferers and this virus can become a thing of the past. Anyways, keep watching for a post for me!!

this is facinating.

where would one look to find the facilities necessary for such a procedure? Military installations?

what is a ballpark cost of such a procedure?

I suffer from oral H, coldsores. Is this procedure known to be effective on both HSV 1 & 2??

thanks for the info.

I've got some news about this myself. I found a Hyperbaric clinic in Georgia that is willing to treat me. The difference is that they will not agree to the extreme protocol previously described. The hyperbaric operator I spoke to said that taking someone through the procedure that is commonly used for the bends is dangerous and can cause seizures. They have agreed to use a protocol that has been used successfully in a hyperbaric chamber in California that treats HSV. It consists of 20 treatments of 60 minutes each, for 4 weeks straight (5 treatments each week). Total cost: $3,000. I start treatments this coming Monday. The success rate of this protocol is this: so far no one has had any outbreaks following the 20 1-hour treatments (reported from the clinic in California). There are no guarantees that this will last forever, because there is not enough research to prove anything yet. If a test comes out that can detect HSV in the blood, rather than just detecting antibodies, then we can know for sure how effective this is. I'm putting my faith in this hyperbaric operator because I feel like he has been honest with me and hasn't glorified this thing as a 'cure'. It could be though. After reading some of the more recent posts, I'm wondering if I should wait until Williamette's experience is reported before I commit? I'm ready to attack this thing now though. I've had it for a year and I'm ready to bury it in the ground. Even if my $3K does nothing else but enable the oxygen therapy to weaken the virus, then fine. I'll hit it again and again until it's fu*king dead.

ps I'll report back as I know more..

Thankyou so much for sharing this experience... are you going to keep some sort of diary to record all of it? I know we will all be curious - and certainly supportive! If I wasn't paying my divorce Lawyer so freakin' much I'd surely send you something to help you out... maybe we should do a fundraiser - sell candy or something!!!

If there is any documented results - ie. # of ppl who have gone through, length of time since procedure, etc... maybe the tech would have info? Proovided we understand this is "experimental"

BTW - how often are your outbreaks now? are you on meds? I'd love to see all your info posted, then follow-ups all on one string (hint-hint)

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Williamette,

I have had last minute reconsiderations on the 20-treatment protocol offered to me here in Georgia. This is a personal issue and it's going to be kind of hard to keep it personal if i have to go to a clinic M-F for four weeks. I'm considering finding someone else who will perform the protocol you are demanding (aiforce table + 2 extensions). That way I could get it done in one long day? Could you let me know how to get in touch with your practitioner? Even if he is not willing to perform this on any additional people at the moment maybe he would know someone else who would be? I'm getting really anxious to move on this so please let me know if you can help me out. Feel free to PM me as well. Thanks in advance.

If anyone knows of a physician willing to administer this treatment for this disease, please post the name, phone number and location of that physician so that others may contact that physician and get information and possibly schedule the treatment. Thanks in advance.

Yes, but every married person who I found out about that has this waited 6-8 months into the relationship to disclose it. But maybe you're right. If I had told her 6-7 months in, she'd still have Googled it and flipped out, and maybe it would have been harder then. I don't know. I don't see myself going through this level of pain and rejection so easily next time. I really don't. I'm taking the meds. I use protection. It's been almost a decade since I've had it so I'm not worried about shedding or passing it on so easily. British studies confirm that the first 2 years are the most contagious and we're passed that. I'm just over this. I've never been in so much emotional pain in my life.

@WilsoInAus would really appreciate your input please. Kinda freaking out lol.

Is this herpes? I can’t find any pics that match this exactly and my symptoms don’t really match. I don’t have really any of the typical herpes symptoms other than pictured, so I figured it could be friction as I have recently been having a lot of sex with a new partner. Way more than normal. Started having unprotected sex about 3 - 4 weeks ago. These symptoms only started about 3-4 days ago. Felt burning in some areas and only some very few tiny red areas/spots appeared. Almost shiny in appearance. Seems to settle very quickly. They were only present for a day or so. Also had some very mild irritation after I pee but not during. This spot has 2 small red lumps that are now dry around the outside. It’s like it’s been rubbed off and the skin is dry and shiny underneath. It doesn’t seem to be lesion. There was no puss or any leakage, nor was the skin ever red under them. They also got better within a day or so. I still have red spots around but they are very small and not bunched together and some general discomfort but I feel it’s because I’ve touched it so much! Stressing a bit!  my research tells me friction burn/blister , Fungal ,herpes a bit of it all! I have no idea! Please help! Thanks in advance.

I’m going to force him to get tested ! Thanks for your help !
    • WilsoInAus
@EssenceL25 there really isn't a question mark around the source, it's your latest partner. The median time from infection to an outbreak of lesions upon initial infection is 4 days.  The only thing that isn't certain is the type I suggest.
