can't figure out who it is

it's a mystery. i thought it was my first boyfriend who gave me HSV2 but i'm really not sure anymore.

i've slept with 5 guys. all protected but one. the one i slept with unprotected has also slept with my bestfriend and another friend of mine and they both have nothing.

and also, i ONLY have HSV2, so it couldn't be anyone from the mouth right? and it couldn't be anyone who i've touched with my mouth?

so i'm thinking it can be this one guy, who i knew had a pretty bad rep. but decided to go with anyway as long as i was careful. we did no fore play so if it was him i wouldnt get HSV on my mouth and only on my genitals. but we wore a condom. is it possible it is him? beacuse i got my 1st outbreak a week after i slept with him. but also 21 days after i slept with the other guy unprotected.

i'm completely clueless.

how is it possible to spread herpes with a condom on?

transmission

It's very hard to determine who gave it to you.

Herpes can easily by transmitted from a male to female even with condom protection. All that's required is skin to skin contact. Skin to mucosa contact increases chances. and mucosa to mucosa contact has the highest transmittance rate aside from being injected with the virus.

In protected sex, there's still a lot of skin/skin, skin/mucosa contact, and that's enought to do the job.

If you just had your primary outbreak, there's a good chance it's the last person you slept with. Unless you slept with the last several people in a short time span, (like 3 months)

Dont waste your time pointing fingers though.

very true - fact is- you got it. some ppl say they get it "through" a condom - but really, think of the logistics of a sexual act - and how do you put a condom on without touching the peins or surrounding conditions? And I don't know about you - but the guy ends up touching that area as the act starts from my experiences -

Condoms help - but are not foolproof. There are too many scenarios to list the possibilities - lets just say - stop worrying about who - it only helps if you have to go back and tell people you exposed them, but as said in the previous post - if it was your first outbreak - tell your last partner. If you are unsure time wise about any previous partner - and you think they should be tested - tell them too.

Hey there,

Actually, while HSV 2 prefers below the waist livin', and HSV 1 prefers the mouth, they actually can switch on you...The only way to know is through a test (not sure if it's swab or blood tests that are more accurate here, but your doctor can clear that up; however, I think the swab is more accurate.)

Good luck!

Not necessarily - thats why there are "odds" I believe that the mouth is a place where things have a hard time surviving... so the "lower" areas may have less of a defense - my opinion....
