I am still me!

I found out about a month ago. I have HSV1. I knew I was going to get it because the guy that I was dating has it. When I found out it wasn't so bad because he was there for me. But now I am bummed. Several days ago I caught him sleeping with his ex..the one who gave it to him. I haven't told any of my friends that I had HSV1 until 2 days ago. They really don't look down on me. They all tell me that it will be ok and that they are here for me. Although I know I have a great support system I am still bummed. For losing him, learning how to go on with my life living with HSV1 and even better, my bithday is tomorow. I guess just like everyone else when they first find out, the thought of who will want me now replays over and over in my head. I guess if I meet someone I just have to be honest from the start. I don't want to get my heart broken and I don't want to break anyone's heart by not being honest. I am still the same person. I just hope that one day I find that mature male who will look beyond it and see me for me.

Thanks for letting me get that out! :)

Hi StillSmiling, hope you had a good birthday and that you are indeed still smiling. I can relate to a lot of what you are saying in your post and just wanted to say you are not alone and are supported here. I've had my genital hsv1 diagnosis for just over a week and I'm still obsessing about it. Good luck with your situation! Hugs...

The ashwagandha is good for thyroid health. I am not familiar with the rest. That is not a list I would put together!

Hey @moonperson it is not likely that you have given a genital HSV-2 infection to 3 of your friends or your boyfriend from any of the activities that you describe. I'm sure this is all fine. How did your new diagnosis come about?

Me too, me too, I hope you can reach you desired level of health... I just think it isn't fully fair in a way to imply that your unfortunate issues are caused by herpes when there is virtually no chance that they are.

Hello y’all, im newly diagnosed with herpes simplex 2 and I’ve given it to 3 of my friends and boyfriend. It migrated from my genitals to my mouth and I smoked weed with my friends via pipe without understanding my infection fully. Then my boyfriend told me it’s okay to kiss and give him head cuz he loves me anyway. He’s not a big chaser or nothing, he’s just dumb. I’m living in constant anxiety and a tumultuous emotional state—just seeing if anyone has similar experiences and tips/tricks you may have picked up on the way leaving with herpes, either strain. Honestly, I’m just needing some support, even if herpes is “common” and “manageable”, it has been a heavy heavy weight on my mind.
