scared & nervous

Recommended Posts

hopeful2008

i was diagnosed w/ gh about 3 months ago. like so many people who are initially infected, i'm really scared and nervous about everything...how many ob will i have? how will i tell someone? will they accept me? etc, etc. i've read lots of advice on all that and it just doesn't make me feel any better. normal i suppose? i'm also freaked b/c my prodrome symptoms (tingling) have been going on the entire 3 months and don't seem to be stopping. lucky me to be one of the rare cases where this doesn't stop. i'm just looking for a breather - a few days even! if my symptoms could just stop for a bit i feel i could get a better grip psychologically on this, but it's so hard and i feel so crappy about myself. so anyway, if anyone has any words of wisdom of thoughts, they are appreciated.

I have hsv2 for 10 months now. From what I remember I felt weird for at least 3 or 4 months. Something never felt quite right whether it be tingling feelings or strange nerve sensations. I dont think you are a rare case at all. I think until your body builds up antibodies it just takes time for you body to become adjusted to your new friend. It will get better just give it a little time.

thanks so much for your reply. i'm trying to wait it out, but that's really tough as i worry this will last for years. i've read a few horror stories of people having these daily sensations for years and that freaks me out. but again, thanks for your thoughts and i will try and be optimistic it'll pass in another month or so.

I get them from time to time, eventually they go away. Time helps but so does talking for reliving stress, you are not alone and were here to help.:)

hi archeologist - when you say from time to time, how often do you get them and how long do they last? and how long have you carried the virus? thanks

The ashwagandha is good for thyroid health. I am not familiar with the rest. That is not a list I would put together!

Hey @moonperson it is not likely that you have given a genital HSV-2 infection to 3 of your friends or your boyfriend from any of the activities that you describe. I'm sure this is all fine. How did your new diagnosis come about?

Me too, me too, I hope you can reach you desired level of health... I just think it isn't fully fair in a way to imply that your unfortunate issues are caused by herpes when there is virtually no chance that they are.

Hello y’all, im newly diagnosed with herpes simplex 2 and I’ve given it to 3 of my friends and boyfriend. It migrated from my genitals to my mouth and I smoked weed with my friends via pipe without understanding my infection fully. Then my boyfriend told me it’s okay to kiss and give him head cuz he loves me anyway. He’s not a big chaser or nothing, he’s just dumb. I’m living in constant anxiety and a tumultuous emotional state—just seeing if anyone has similar experiences and tips/tricks you may have picked up on the way leaving with herpes, either strain. Honestly, I’m just needing some support, even if herpes is “common” and “manageable”, it has been a heavy heavy weight on my mind.
