women's herpes test question

On Tuesday I had a pap smear. Since Tuesday I have had small sores on my labia and the doctors guesses herpes. Since he was going to run a test for herpes he asked if I wanted one for Claumedia (sp?) and gonorehia (sp?) too. My results for C & G came back today and they were negative. When I asked the nurse if the test also included herpes she said yes. So I said 'then I'm negative?' and she said 'yes' then she said 'no, that will show up on your pap smear.' Huh? I didn't think herpes showed up on a pap smear? I thought today I would FINALLY KNOW, but now I have to wait til 5:30 on Tuesday. UGH! How did you ladies get tested?

This whole thing is freaking me out. I have been w/ the same guy for 7 years. We have both been faitfull to one another. He just had a physical a couple of months ago and they tested for STD's and they all came back negative. I went to my gyno 2 or 3 years ago because I had a sore 'down there' from friction from wearing too tight jeans. She thought it might be herpes and ran a test for it and it came back negative. I would think if it was negative then that it would be negative now right? I guess I'll find out Tuesday.
