Red Marine Algae

Ok.... I am finally on this thing. Yes, Red Marinr Algae works. My brother is in the natural medicine field and the trick is to keep your immune system strong. You shouold also stay away from Chocolate, Coffee and Nuts. I drink Aloe Vera Juice and take the Marine Algae pills daily... I am also taking vitamins and minerals.... you can;t trust the food in stores to give you the proper nutrition

I hope this helps..... I have never had an outbreak ( I found out last year that I had it in my blood) and I hope to never have one.

Alcohol and stress also trigger it.

Good luck......

Is it really that amazing?

How do you take it, orally?

And its an immune system booster or is targeted towards herpes?

I am open to anything!

Red Marine Algea comes in capsule form. It is an immune booster that is believed to support the anti-viral activities of the body. I took it for about four months. The only reason why I stopped taking it is because it contributes to weight loss. I lost like 12 pounds while taking it. Weight loss wasn't my goal.

Hmmm weight loss and fewer outbreaks you say....;)

Hehe jokes, I dont need to lose weight either (herpes stress has done a good job of keeping me thin), but fewer outbreaks I would like!

ps. anyone know if its fda approved/what other side effects?

I too went on red marine algae and olive leaf extract. Haven't done it in a while, but felt it really helped back in the honeymoon phase. I didn't know about the weight loss, though: I don't want to loose weight either!

When I take it now, it's because I'm coming down with a cold. Great antiviral.

Okay seriously! I am spending so much money and nothing is helping this stupid first ob and it's been over two weeks. Just as I feel like I am getting better wham I start getting the tingles again and those damn blister in the back of my throat have not shrunk one iota of a bit. Does anyone know if dynamiclear sells a mouth wash? (I am trying salt water but nothing so far) I was taking Valtrex at first now Acyclovair. I am taking three to four Super Lysine pills a day, multi-vitamin twice daily, vitamin C with ecanasia twice, one bioflavinoids, one zinc, two glasses of chamomile tea a day, eating only protein and taking greens to go, putting on Lysine Plus chapstick and I just used Dynamiclear last night. Half way through the day today my stupid lips started tingling AGAIN!!! What the hell gives! How long am I to live in exile like this for? I mean I haven't had any big blisters like in the back of my throat on my lips yet but I fear it is only a matter of time before I look in the mirror and there they will be. HELP does this red marine algae, olive leaf, or pure garlic supposed to work wonders or something or will I just be wasting my money yet again! I don't know how much more weight I could possibly loose either since I have only been eating protein I have lost five pounds and I was a skinny 128 to begin with. My paints and belts are barely keeping things on.

Thanks a very frustrated Blueskies today :(

Blueskies - the first ob is the worst and is usually somewhat resistant to medication. My first genital outbreak took ATLEAST 4 weeks to heal and was closely followed by subsequent outbreaks. Valtrex helped but didnt completely stop them either. It kind of needs to run its course.

Also, being really stressed and anxious over them just makes things worse. I totally know how hard it is to calm down and accept this, its nearly impossible. But really, trying to tackle your stress and emotions about this WILL help with the physical symptoms. As herpes and stress are closely related.

I know this is slightly annoying and cliche but try some good old fashioned rest and stress relief. It will help.

Contrary to what it seems like now, it WILL end. I promise you.

Just try and be patient. (Again, I know. Near impossible)

But your body is adjusting, try not to be so hard on yourself k? This will get easier over time. *hugs*

Bluskies

I was going to write just about the same thing that Lookonthesunnyside wrote.

Didn't I read somewhere else that you're sad and depressed about not being able to kiss your little nieces and nephews? Right now, obviously, you want to be vigilant, but it is true: this will pass, and you'll be able to enjoy your little ones just like you have before. Really! I suspect hsv is acting up because on top of this being new for your body, you are still mourning/grieving for what you *think* you lost.

You didn't lose it. Trust me. Give it some time, some rest, but they will still be there, and you will still be able to give them love and affection.

Thanks guys I just had a bad day today and en-light of it all I really am trying to stay positive and be of help to others. I thought I had my head and heart wrapped around this so I could be strong for others but I guess I am still grieving a bit. I just found out through my now ex-boyfriends roommate that he is already sleeping with someone else and that he had done this to at least three women in the past and I got so pissed that he is going to do this again to someone else because no damn lawyer will take my case. I just can't stomach the fact that he should seriously be in jail! Then after that frustration my co-workers were joking around about sex and then one of them made a comment about herpes and the people who have it are all whores. Normally I would have laughed and agreed but I almost broke down into tears right then in there. I have only been with two people since I was raped seven years ago and I felt like this huge knife was stabbing me in the chest. I have been truly trying to focus on starting up an organization to help fund herpes research and on my newly started company but today was hard for me to focus on anything. I then came home cried for an hour took more pills and got on here to see if I could find out more to reduce my symptoms that starting acting up again. I am sure half of it was the stress of my horrible day and I want nothing more then to eat chocolate and have a huge glass of red wine. Damn this disease! I am sorry this post ended up being my rant for the evening you guys. I really do want to know whether any of those things like red marine works.

Sorry

Aww blueskies, it sounds like you had a horrible day. And its very very normal to be horrified at first about this. I was absolutely horrified and heartbroken for the first 3 months or so. Some people get over it faster than others, and our individual situations can make it either harder or easier to move on. Obviously your situation is very difficult as you have a lot of anger towards the person who gave you this (rightly so). The guy that gave it to me was also a huge asshole after everything that happened, and I suspect that he's out sleeping with other people and not disclosing his status. But theres nothing we can do to control what they do, all we can do is try and move on and do the best that we can with the cards we've been dealt. They've already affected enough of our past, we dont want them to ruin our future right? This is one thing I've struggled with, feeling like my ex (who gave it to me) will be continuously negatively affecting my life without even being in it. But it honestly is up to how you want to look at it and deal with it. I have gotten past those thoughts because I HAD to for my own sanity. And there will come a day when you can let go of the anger and just pity him for being such a miserable human being.

This will get better and it will not negatively impact the rest of your life. The outbreaks are very traumatizing at first but as time goes on and as the physical symptoms ease up so will the emotional turmoil. Dont worry sweetie ;) You will be able to engage in normal everyday affection, that is not even an issue. I know how it feels though, you just feel like a walking virus. But that will definitely pass!

I dont think red marine algae and olive leaf have been a waste of money. Not only does it keep herpes in check I also never get sick. Sorry you are feeling so crappy. Feel better soon.

As with any supplement, make sure you read the label and follow the instructions.

The one the I bought is made by Solaray and there's a caution note on the label that says:

Do NOT use if you have hyperthyroidism; Long term use is not recommended.

I also take the Solaray red marine algae. It says to take one a day, or 4 times a day. I take 2 a day. I bought it back when I got diagnosed and then went crazy buying everything I could find that said it would help fight herpes. I then came to my senses and didn't take everything. But I do have a problem with high risk hpv that my body isn't fighting off, so after reading that a specific substance in red marine algae has been found to kill hpv (at least in a test tube) I decided if it fights hpv I'm all for it! I've been taking it since. I saw an alternative doc who said it was okay to take.

But I am questioning now, how long is long-term? Does it say when/how long to take a break from it? Hmmm....

I also believe in Olive Leaf but am not taking it as of now. I bought some that contained echinacea in it (without knowing) and having an autoimmune disorder I am not supposed to take echinacea.

Hey @Lcj987 and welcome to the website. You can be sure that isn't HSV-2, looks nothing like it. It is much more likely to be folliculitis or inflamed fordyce spots.

Hey @JackThrowAway herpes causes an outbreak where it enters the body first and maybe a progressive spread. If it doesn't cause an outbreak at the entry site then it won't cause one elsewhere, it also won't 'jump' upon infection - it would be more likely that the lesions are continuous from the penis to the anus. Nevertheless, testing trumps symptoms or any interpretation of symptoms. The correct conclusive result arises when: you have a positive swab; or An IgG HSV-2 level over 3.5 (Herpeselect test).

Slept with someone unprotected, roughly 2 weeks ago now. I felt generally unwell the couple of days after but I’d been drinking the whole weekend and didn’t have much sleep either of the days of that weekend so put it down to that. 6 days after I noticed these spots appear on the shaft of my penis. Along with symptoms of discomfort in my shaft in the couple of days prior to them appearing. No pain when urinating at all that I have noticed. They don’t hurt, itch or tingle and they don’t have fluid in from what I can see or feel if I squeeze them and have never burst? I went to a sexual health clinic to get checked up, they took bloods to do a full test and looked at the spots but said they saw nothing that concerned them but I’m not sure about that, any advice? The smaller spots under the shaft are just follicles I had diagnosed years ago and non-sti related.

She tested positive for HSV2. No, there was nothing of that sort in that area.   However I also have ulcerative colitis so I’m on medication that makes me immunosuppressed. I have been bleeding a bit when I pass stools during the time of redness, so I’m unsure if I’m getting a flare from the colitis (from all the stress of everything) or if it’s due to the virus making it’s way to an already inflamed area and popping up as blisters that I can’t see and hence the bleeding.    I had two equivocal results (at 4 weeks and 6 weeks) that then went to a positive result (7 weeks after exposure). Combine that with some flu symptoms, redness, tingling etc. makes me feel it’s conclusive that this points to a hsv2 infection.
