I am applying for life insurance. will herpes affect this?

I am going to have to give blood and a urine sample to get life insurance. Will it show up in either that I have herpes? If it does show up, will this affect my ability to get life insurance? Must I disclose that I have it if it wouldn't show up on the tests? The agent is a personal friend of mine and I don't want him to know that I have it. He was the one who asked the medical questions last time (before I had herpes).

Also is it safe to donate blood? Thanks for your help with this.
