I would say no, that's not herpes...you may have a cold though...go to your doctor to get examined if you are worried about it...you can get tested for herpes too.

I would honestly say that I don't think it's herpes. That guy could have had a cold or anything. I can't hurt to go to the doctor to find out what it is though.

If it was herpes it'd be type hsv-1 and that's cold sores. Those usually are on your lips, gums, etc. I think you're fine! Hopefully, you're feeling better by now!

Probably not

but if it worries you, go to a doctor and get it checked. What you describe doesn't sound like herpes. Herpes is usually a small sore on the lip (usually hsv1) or on/near the genitals (usually hsv2). You can get a blood test for herpes but you have to ask for it and insist since doctors don't like to give them. A blood test is accurate when given at least 3 months from exposure.

But it sounds like you are worried over nothing.

Maybe you should know, though, that about 80% of all people in north America carry the hsv1 form of herpes as (usually dormant) cold sores so if you kiss someone in any way at all, you have a better than 50-50 chance of coming in contact with someone with hsv1 (herpes simplex virus type 1). Most people get hsv1 in childhood from a kiss from a relative or by sharing a glass with a sibling. It's extremely common.
