Itching after sores are gone, what is this??

Recommended Posts

dawnlw0418

So-was diagnosed last week, the sores are gone but inside of my buttocks is pretty itchy at times (the sores were not even there). Is this something someone has dealt with as part of herpes or is this just something not associated with it? Anyone else have this problem?? Any input would be great!

Yes, both my wife and I have the same problem. Me more so. Two weeks of not taking my meds has caused this (I think)...I have also just given up beer, soda and now tring to get off of coffee....It sucks but all of us will be fine...Keep your heads up..

My butt cheek itched for weeeks after my primary outbreak! I came on here and jokingly said, I miss a good ole butt scratch without worrying about herpes! Now, two + years later, it doesn't bother me. (knock wood)

The virus is active in the nerve pathways until it retreats to the base of the spine. The nerve itch/pains can hang around for a while until your body has built antibodies to fight off the virus, and until it retreats and goes to sleep for a while. (hopefully forever!)

Thanks everyone for your input. Glad to hear I'm not the only one and this is not another outbreak! I didn't end up using Monistat last night..I took a bath with baking soda and that seemed to help a bit. I'll just wait it out and hope this settles down soon :)

Phantom itches

I also have one spot that itches occasionally. Interestingly, I find if i am busy it doesn't happen. But if I am not busy I notice.

Phantom itch

I have the same problem, and also do not get sores there. It is annoying but just like coping101 I don't notice it when I'm busy, but I sure do when I'm just laying around doing nothing...weird. Since I have only had H for about 4 months I figure as my body makes more antibodies it will get better. I will say that thankfully outbreak number 2 (I've only had 2 so far...) was not at all as bothersome for me....that was a major relief

lostinarabia- I know kinda how you feel (since i'm a girl i don't know exactly what you're going through), but mine did finally go away and i feel nornal down there now. What i did is took a warm/hot bath with plenty of baking soda in it and that seemed to relieve the itching some. Also, are you taking any kind of suppressive meds (like valtrex), if not you might want to talk to your doctor about that. It will get better!!!

What was the comment? I don't see it on their official Facebook Given the recent news that Crispr can result in all sorts of erroneous cuts when double strand breaks are involved, I'm surprised to hear they still believe they will run trials in a few months. The FDA recently blocked ex vivo crispr trials, I can't imagine them letting in vivo trials move forward given the recent reports

How do you get in touch with a Moderator for this site? I am being bullied, unbelievably, on a support site.  I can't just let it go because it is happening to other people too.

For the last time, my name is not Jay.  My name is Amy.  I am not telling you my last name.  I am a woman, not a man.  I've reported all of your rude comments to me and asked an Admin to prove to you that I am not Jay.  You are really pissing me off.  I'm pretty sure Spinky is in the same group on FB for meningitis and he can vouch for me.  Now get a life and leave me alone!!!!

Ronald, could you please stop with the capital letters; it's annoying to read.
