i'm not on meds. its been there for three months (at least) but is just now starting to get bothersome. i was holding out on getting tested becausei was hoping it was something else. now i feel like there is no denying it. is there anything i could do to make it calm down without getting put on meds. my outbreak has not been bad enough to need to go to the doctor for emergency help.

HITBYHSV

Its possible - but it is probably not in one place all the time - right? it moves around - different places? if so then its likely to be a serial of OB's - maybe you have 3-4 OB's going - from one to another....get meds and cream to fight it.....if you take and use meds it should stop quicker than 3 months....did you take meds?

the majority of the bumps have stayed in the same area. like two new ones came up maybe a week ago. i'm in college so i don't have the best diet but nothing too strange. i hate this crap i just want it to go away so i can feel normal. i'm embarrassed to go to the doctor. also how much does the cheapest medicine cost? i don't want to tell my parents about this but they pay for the insurance... i just don't really know what to do.

i actually take lysine supplements (8 dollars a bottle at cvs) and red marine algea supplements (13 dollars at vitamin shoppe), seems to help..i graduated college and now have no insurance..plus valtrex is like 130 dollars, thats insane

try and stay away from caffeine chocolate and nuts..sorry if my spelling is off, its been a long day

Not true in my personal experience. I have had OB's for 3 months. Once it heals I get one again 1-4 days later in the exact same spot. Sucks, def stress related. I have HSV/1 AND 2. For about 6 years now and was almost asymptomatic for 4 of them (only getting a small outbreak once a year). So yes is it possible and it sucksssss

HITBYHSV

My first OB was like this; - it started on two places on the balls and worked its way around my complete genitals - I reckon it was OB on OB - it took 3 months to stop and heal - just talking my own experience.....

Longest would of been about 2 weeks with my initial OB. I just take 400mg of acyclovir morning, lunchtime & night time as I do like to have a beer or two some nights. If i feel an OB coming on, I just up the dosage to 2 more pills during the day and apply some acyclovir cream to the spot where my OB's are.

I do admit, the moving around of OB's has happened to me as you said HitbyHSV. The past OB has changed from underneath the forskin to the top part of the peep. But has not spread outside thank god!

Almost certainly that is not herpes. There are a number of diseases that can cause your symptoms, not all of them infectious. If you haven't done so already, go see a doctor as soon as you can.

Seems likely that you had an asymptomatic infection and now you are having very mild recurrences. Asymptomatic infection is by far the most common case, in particular for HSV1 positive people. It could be a genital reinfection with HSV1, unlikely, or most likely a new HSV2 infection, there is no way to tell without a blood test. It's been long enough for an IGG test but don't bother testing for HSV1, you can already assume you are positive and have been for most of your life. I don't know about how it is where you live, but where I live I don't need to ask any doctor to get tested, I can just go into a clinical lab and order the test for €40. If your test returns negative for HSV2, don't worry about putting her at any risk regarding HSV1, she will have the same risk from anyone else. Acyclovir cream won't do any good, you should stop it (it increases the risk of getting an acyclovir resistant strain). Otherwise, your recurrences are so mild and far apart that it isn't worth it to do any treatment for now, so don't be scared about your health, chances are it'll get better with time. AND ALWAYS WEAR A CONDOM

Doing a little research, it seems that Amenamevir  and Pritelivir are definitely not chemically identical. How similar are these drugs really?

I have been working out regularly after being diagnosed in may with ghsv1.  First 3 weeks were awful but haven’t had any OB, symptoms at all since.  I also haven’t been eating as healthy as I should be.  Feel like I never had it. Hope it stays this way.  I think working out helps.  Just my view so far.

Based on current HIV treatment, I would imagine they will create a one-pill combo of pritelivir and valtrex and sell it as a daily pill. But once a week pritelivir + valtrex might also work in the meantime.
