I wonder

The Duke team is discussing a potential collaboration with Regulus Therapeutics LLC, a joint venture between Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Inc and Isis Pharmaceuticals, Inc that specializes in microRNAs.

Is this still happening? I will have to ask Cullen.

I think the univ. of fl research would be are best bet but unfortunately i think the pharm. companies wont inves till they can find a way to make the drug where you have to keep taking it to suppress the virus.

For ones that dont know their cure would keep the virus dormant and eliminate shedding and complete transfer of the virus.

The investment risks for pharma companies for both U of Florida and Duke universities cure is far less then developing a vaccine. On phase 1 itself, it can accurately be determined if the technologies works, because from phase 1 for testing of safety of the drug usually around 60-80 people infected with the virus are administered with the drug and as a CURE all of them should be outbreak free within a year. Within a year of its trial everyone should know if the drug is successful therefore moving onto phase 2 and 3 when they find the drug to cure the infection. The investment risk here is very low as compared to a vaccine where only during phase 3 trials by comparing to a placebo group one can determine if the vaccine can prevent infection.

As the word goes around, volunteers would even be willing to go through the trials for free thus saving more on clinical expenditure.

I do believe too that a cure for HSV from either duke or u of florida can obtain fast track approval if infact it has been successful during phase 1 trials because of its application in preventing the spread of HIV. The biggest hurdle for the cure will be to bring it into phase 1 and the ones responsible to disperse funds should believe and give these technologies a chance to show the benefits.

It’s really scary and depressing to find out you have this virus. When I found out, last Wednesday, I went through the emotions and the pain of a severe breakout (8 in total, all in separate spots). Today, almost a week later, I can finally move without wanting to scream. My best friends, during this time, were my detachable shower head, Naproxen, and Lidocaine 5% cream. (If you do not have a detachable shower head I recommend one or get a Peri Bottle. They help for keeping clean and for pain relief) Just as everyone here, we want this to be over with. The pain to go away. To feel “normal” again. I’ve researched and read everything I could get ahold of. Then I read about Monolaurin. It's a substance that's derived from lauric acid that is found in coconut oil and human breast milk. It supposedly helps immensely with our virus from hell!  I read that this woman started using it and she hasn’t had a break out in 2 years AND when she does feel one coming on she doubles up on her dose and BOOM, it’s gone! I ordered some off of Amazon and can’t wait for it to get here! What can it hurt, right? Seriously, what do we have to lose (besides a breakout, hopefully!) Here’s some info if you have never heard of it and want to know more. Good luck and keep your head up!   https://www.verywellhealth.com/the-benefits-of-monolaurin-89482

To be fair it would be hard to prove, you could have an oral infection for years before

No they will stay anonymous due to not wanting them to be outed no doubt. That's if anything goes further cause it will be hard to prove damages hsv wise surely.

I am doing this, but also taking other supplements at the same time. I drink a ton of water so it's easy to have lemon water on hand. I am on week 2 now.
