GRRRRR fed up now

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Im from the UK so hope it is ok to still post?

How it works for me and has done for years is..... i will get a cold sore that will sort its self out. Following that i will recieve Oral blisters on both my top and bottom lips. My thoat will swell and my body will grow what can only be described as little balls of fluid. These ball are itchy and whe they break will scab over and form a target lession (sorry bout spelling).

This will happen every couple of months (as i am male i am hoping not period related) i have previously tried Aciclovir but tbh no difference in the duration or indeed gaps between OB.

I have read a few posts on here and can relate on many levels as this really does get you so down and it is simply upsetting.

Some OB are worse than others i cant find triggers for me every body says stress but i really dont feel that i am a stressy person but hey i havent found anything else.

This OB started last Mon i struggled through til yesturda when i did go to the docs (i find this a waste of time as i dont really seem to get answers)

However the pain Orally is emense i did recieve some steroids ( Predinisolone) and some Famciclover has any of you had success with these as i am fed up with feeling so down and low too many times a year

Thanks for letting me waffle....

There are currently two Phase 2 clinical trials of the effect of valacyclovir (i.e. Valtrex) at the NIH and University Hospital in Umeå, Sweden respectively for the sole purpose of measuring the impact to Alzheimers of taking Valacyclovir in HSV1+ individuals. Anti-viral Therapy in Alzheimer's Disease https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT03282916?recrs=ad&cond=Herpes+Simplex&rank=10 Feasibility and Effects of Valaciclovir Treatment in Persons With Early Alzheimer's Disease (VALZ-Pilot) https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02997982?recrs=ad&cond=Herpes+Simplex&draw=2&rank=11 We should have some compelling evidence by about this time next year as the Swedish study has been going since 2016 and is set to conclude in April of next year.  The NIH study is set to conclude in 2022 but either way, on simply the mounting causal evidence, I'm going to continue taking my antivirals.

It still sucks for those of us in our 40's. Granted you will have to deal with it a lot longer than I, but it still sucks.
