Oral sex + GHSV1

Recommended Posts

Coco2

I keep on reading different things so I'm wondering if someone can help me from their personal experiences.

Has anyone transferred an outbreak of GHSV1 to orally through oral sex ?!

My boyfriend and I are very frustrated considering we both love oral sex very much so !

That hasn't happened to me. I guess it's possible but hsv-1 doesn't shed very often if genital so the risk would be lower to the other person getting it than if say it was an oral infection and you were giving oral sex.

I got genital herpes through someone giving me oral sex when they had hsv-1. They weren't showing any signs of a cold sore until the next day. My doctor said that I got it because the virus was shedding even though he wasn't showing symptoms yet. My advice would be to abstain from oral sex.

Wait I didn't understand the question, sorry.

But in response to your real question. I distinctly remember my doctor saying you can transfer them from oral to genitals and vice versa.

Yeah I've heard that there is a good possibility that I couldn't, but then I hear that you could from shedding, etc.

I guess I should ask has anyone experienced transferring it from genital to oral.

yes you can transsfer oral to genital its common, but if you 2 like each other, and you both have oral already,a=if you ever did get it in the genital area it wouldnt be that bad since it doesnt prefer that region..,me personally would risk it,, i like oral too much to go without, to be on the safe side make sure you wash you mouth area with a wash cloth first.. to get any shedding skin off , i think the risks are fairliy low, but it could happen

I also got GH from oral sex. Please whatever you do, DO NOT have oral while you have or think you have an outbreak. When you don't have an outbreak go for it!

This is my last finding: In vivo Knock-down of the HSV-1 Latency-Associated Transcript Reduces Reactivation from Latency. "We show that this treatment blocks reactivation in the majority of the rabbits."

There are currently two Phase 2 clinical trials of the effect of valacyclovir (i.e. Valtrex) at the NIH and University Hospital in Umeå, Sweden respectively for the sole purpose of measuring the impact to Alzheimers of taking Valacyclovir in HSV1+ individuals. Anti-viral Therapy in Alzheimer's Disease https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT03282916?recrs=ad&cond=Herpes+Simplex&rank=10 Feasibility and Effects of Valaciclovir Treatment in Persons With Early Alzheimer's Disease (VALZ-Pilot) https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02997982?recrs=ad&cond=Herpes+Simplex&draw=2&rank=11 We should have some compelling evidence by about this time next year as the Swedish study has been going since 2016 and is set to conclude in April of next year.  The NIH study is set to conclude in 2022 but either way, on simply the mounting causal evidence, I'm going to continue taking my antivirals.

It still sucks for those of us in our 40's. Granted you will have to deal with it a lot longer than I, but it still sucks.
