Can anyone help answer my questions?

Hello everyone,

It's been a little over 7 weeks since I had contact with a partner that was new. I used protection, although I know from reading that doesn't help much. Any contacts would have been made on my penis, base of penis, and top of testicles.

Starting about a day ago, I noticed what is like 2 - 3 random sore pimple-like bumps below my testicles, between my testicles and anus. They aren't together and they feel like those sore hard pimples you get on your back. This is kind of scary, because I never remember getting anything in that area.

They are had to see, but I managed to actually get a picture. I put aqua dots next to them.

I don't think this is against forum rules, and I believe I've seen someone do this before. I apologize if it is.

They feel like ingrown hairs or normal pimples, and they don't look like what I've seen herpes pictures.

All other health symptoms are fine. No signs anywhere else. No fever, pains, aches, etc. They just hurt a little if I rub them or if my boxers irritate them.

I got a full exam by 2 doctors a few weeks after exposure (just in case) and took a full blood test. All negative. Will get a full test again at the 3 month mark.

Thanks in advance :)

do you have any questions?

I've noticed that when i pictured hunted for herpes I found the worst... and my OB wasn't like the pictures.

I have small raised areas like a pimple and they did not oze or pop or anything like that

at first the surrounding area itched really bad. It did stop tho

and not sometimes the bumps are only there for a day and gone the next... I started Lysine (walmart) and it's helped a lot.

oh sorry

yeah my question is do these look like they could be herpes?

they don't itch at all. the big one just feels a little sore if i rub it. it feels like a pimple.

could they appear 7-8 weeks later and in an area that wasn't exposed? i would think if anything they'd appear at the base of my penis that had exposure.

Yes..it is my understanding an outbreak will occur where ever the virus entered the body (break in the skin)..not necessarily the area that is in direct contact during sex. My outbreak occurred several weeks after exposure to the infected partner and it is on my butt cheek. Which was not an area in direct contact during intercourse. And they looked like 2 pimples...not the horrible pictures on-line. Were painful..not that itchy though. Assume sexual fluids must have run down the crack of my heiny and entered where my thong rubs and sometimes creates a rug burn type of rash (ie: the break in the skin). I tested negative on 5 bloodtests spaced a month apart throughout the 6 months I dated this person...received my positive result yesterday for type 2. My outbreak occured 4 weeks prior to the confirmed blood test. However, the last time I was with this person was the end of August. Now I am single and made the decision to play russion roullette with my health due to loving someone. This decision will last a lifetime. I hope your results turn out better than mine. If not, I'm here if you need a friend.

Thank you for the reply.

Did they hurt on their own or only when you rubbed them?

How long did they last until they went away?

What type of blood test did you get?

Hi. The area primarily was painful when rubbed by clothing. However, my lymph node in my groin and skin on my thigh was pretty painful. I had headaches and I think a fever. Most of the symptoms lasted for almost 2 weeks. But even now I still have achiness in my groin on both the right and right side lymph node areas. As far as the blood test..I can't remember the technical term for the type 2 test. For the majority of the tests I utilized the Herpes Testing center to coordinate the test at a LabCorp facility. Here is the number & ext. of the counselor I worked with. She was always very helpful and would answer my questions and be supportive throughout the 6 mths that I contacted her while I dated the other guy. 888-249-6716 x703 Leslie

I agree your post was very well written. I think I was speaking from more of a GHSV1 perspective as it relates to the oral virus so many carry and spread.   I too, before being diagnosed, was small minded and ignorat about herpes. But I believe it had to do with the way I was brought up. Looking back now I want to say it was because of my experience in college. I went to ASU, we are absolutely known for partying and STI’s. I was heavily involved in Greek life, and bascially if one person found out you had herpes your life was changed  socially and romantically. You were the girl/ guy on campus with herpes. A bunch of little 18-22 year old shits who didn’t give a flying F if you said HSV1 or HSV2. It was herpes. That’s all they were known for. Surrounding schools found out and people from your hometown found out. Maybe my generation sucks but that’s extremely sickening to witness and go through.  I now work in marketing with a bunch of people my age and older. There is a guy who disclosed and was open about herpes to a lot of us in the office and again, he was just known as the herpes guy. And no, not by me but grown adults with real jobs and education. Most likely those adults statistically had some strain of it too. But again these are my experiences. I know they are wrong now but who knows when the rest of the world will catch up.

Some more good news on crispr! Restoring cells to an uninfected state once a virus is destroyed. https://phys.org/news/2018-09-cells-uninfected-state-virus.amp Now if only they could remove this virus from each of us and fix the effective cells would be no longer a dream!

But don’t you have an oral HSV-1 infection? Condoms don’t protect against that?

Give it a try and report back to us. It's pretty safe vaccine approved by the FDA.
