About My Outbreaks ..........."ouch"

Recommended Posts

HI everyone, I have had simplex on my lip for the last 15 years and have understood what brings on an outbreak. For me stress is #1, alcohol, diet, being sick, sun, biting into a hard apple which causes some trauma on the lips brings on an out break every time and any kind of trauma to my lips brings out the blisters. During some of the most stressful times in my life it would not be usual for me to have 3 to 4 outbreaks a month. Valtrex 1000 mg pills is my only help medically. At the first sign of any tingling on my lip I take 2- 1000 mg tablets to slow down the effect of the virus. If I don't take the Valtrex my lip will swell up like someone punched me in the face ! Right now I am in the middle of an outbreak. The first one in allmost 2 years ! I have changed my life......... "No more stress" learn how to manage your stress. No more alcohol, use sun block on your lips. Change your diet, I no longer use salt or sugar I eat fruits and veggies mostly and a little chicken or beef. No sodas or candy, try and eat healthy. I also execise regularly and run a couple of miles per day. I really think the no salt, sugar and alcohol have done wonders. I have tryed Lysine and that really doesnot work ! Hope they find a cure for this soon so I can start drinking again ! :D I just want to thank my ex wife for giving me this nightmare .................... :madd:

Look into kelp extract

Someone told me about this, and from what I have read, it too helps prevent outbreaks.

How much Lysine were you taking? When I am dating someone I take 1000mg of Lysine a day and it seems to work for me.

Good luck!

JB

Lysine ..................

Lysineis is no good for me started with 4000 mg a day and then more ...... no difference. Valtrex is the only noticeable drug that will do anything. :D

Hi! I was diagnosed one year and four months ago. Not a major first outbreak. Than 2,5 months later my second. Then faster a Little ob. Then is was without for almost 7 months. I really felt that was how i could handle things. Then in June i started having ob after ob. It was a very hot summer here in Holland. Also started a new relationship so more frequent sexual Activity. Not sure what coused it but those things i did feel like could trigger it.  Started acyclivir two months ago. That helps a great deal. But really dont want to Stay on Anti virals. Willing to try natural stuff but also right now feeling very happy not worrying all the time. Need to discuss again with my doctor soon.

Oh wow that sounds mind boggling,, maybe your diet is your problem as well. Dang I thought guys had it a little easier seeing as tho you could keep your ob's dry better than a woman for it to heal..  I've never heard of Neem what's is that
