Hi Sax,

I'm sorry you have to be here, but welcome.

The waiting is probably the roughest time. Not knowing whether you have it or not. I'm assuming from your post that you think you might because someone with whom you had sex has told you that s/he has it.

If you have herpes, you will find lots of information here, and a whole group of people who are here to share their experiences (both good and bad). They are also ready to hear your experiences and reply as best they can, and answer as many questions as they can. When answers aren't immediately available they'll point you in the right direction.

If you have herpes you have a lifetime skin disease, but it is not serious, it is not debilitating and it is not life threatening. The biggest problem with the disease is it's social stigma, how other people react.

If you have herpes you will have joined approximately 25% of the population, depending on where you live. (Some communities are as low as 16% and some are as high as 38%). That's a pretty sizable minority.

If you have herpes the most important thing to know is that life goes on. You'd be surprised how life will continue.

If you don't have herpes I hope you remember what you've been going through so that you can help to break the stigma that so many of us experience.

Hang in there until you know for sure, and try not to get too stressed because stress is not good for your general health and particularly not good for herpes. Take a warm bath, or go for a run. Do what keeps you level. Please let us know what the results are, either way.

(For my case: i am not diagnosed herpes. I had genital warts.
I can tell her a sex partner was diagnosed with HPV, and i pretty surely have it and that's why i do it with boxer short the next months. Hm.)   https://herpesopportunity.com/downloads/herpes-opportunity-disclosure-handout.pdf https://www.cdc.gov/std/herpes/stdfact-herpes-detailed.htm

How long after diagnosis did you start to have sex again? How did he get it on the lips?

Hi,  I was wondering if you could describe your outbreaks or how much time it passed before you where correctly diagnosed. Or your overall experience. I am freaking out and just wearing my underwear feels uncomfortable.  How did they diagnosed you? Thank you in advanced

I THINK this will benefit us. If the FDA allows more aggressive research in the deadliest virus programs, such as HIV gene editing, then off-targeting and other safety issues might already be solved before Dr. Jerome  starts editing hsv in humans.
