Dating with H after divorce

This is my first time here. It has been very helpful reading all of your posts. It gives me hope. I am recently divorced after contracting H years ago from my husband. It has never been a difficult thing for me until now.

I know alot of you feel my pain when it comes to dating. I did start dating a friend I had had for a long time. We had a connection I could only dream about. Things did get to the sexual point. So I did tell him and we had sex a few times. (Always with a condom and never during a OB). At first he seemed very supportive. After a week or so he said it weighed on his mind and didnt think he could deal with it. He said he thought I was the perfect woman for him other than that, and not to give up hope that we would be together someday. (Not sure what I'm supposed to be hoping for since my condition wont change) Unfortunately I have fallen for him and needless to say I am crushed. I recently had lunch with him (for closure sake) and he told me that he had had the flu the a couple of days before. I immediately got scared that maybe he got it because it is within that 20 days from exposure. Does it ever start that way? If it does will he get the physical symptoms or can it start that way and then have no other symptoms? I thank you all for your time.

Yes, very frequently, one gets flu-like symptoms after infection from a virus (any virus). If it isn't flu season and no one around him had the flu it would make me wonder. And no, he need not have any more symptoms than that to possibly have herpes.
