any words of encouragement?

I hope more than anything someone has a few wise words to share. I have posted a couple times in different boards with no reply. I am positive for HSV 2 as of this week. What a shock. Even worse, I got HIV tested this week also(no results yet) and I have psychologically convinced myself of horrible things. I have been itchy all over, but no skin rash. tingly in my hands and fingers, sick to my stomach, with really bad heartburn (NERVES?) and my mouth broke out slightly too, although the dr said the weren't herpes lesions. I 've been looking desperately for someone who has experience anything similar. I can't believe, I was healthy last week, or so I thought! My outbreak has consisted of anal lesions, vaginal discharge, itching and irritation, as well as leg cramps, muscle aches and fever(feels like the flu). Has anyone else had symptoms that were HSV, but seemed like HIV...help me with some enouragement, please

Hi

Even *IF* your test comes back HIV positive, there are no symptoms that I know of that people experience when they contract HIV...it is later on with the compromise of the immune system - when people go from being HIV+ to having AIDS that people get "sick." I am by no means an expert, but your symptoms sound like a primary herpes outbreak, (including the flu-like aches & pains) coupled with understandable stress/anxiety. I was a mess when I was diagnosed.

I also got HIV tested after finding out I had H. I was scared to death - terrified of what else I may have exposed myself to. Thankfully I was negative and hopefully you will be as well. It was smart to get tested. Just get the results as soon as you can so you can stop worrying about it or start dealing with it. Let us know.

I have waited days to hear those kind words...Thanks! If you've been there, I'm sure you know what I mean. I am feeling somewhat better. I woke up feeling hungry this morning after not eating in a couple days, and I actually got sleep last night. Still running a fever, and now having back pain, but I understand that's a herpes symptom too. I have read that the first "Bad" outbreak is usually within 3 months...has that stood true for everyone else?, cause I'm trying to figure out where this bad boy came from!!

I had to be tested for HIV too eventually because after contracting herpes I just stayed sick (I was hospitalized for complications but even after I got out I was just still sick for basically more than a year.) So the doctor just wanted to rule out everything to be sure there wasn't something fundamentally wrong with my immune system. And yes, waiting for "test results day" was hell. I had to leave work (in tears) and go home for the phone call. I have a gay cousin who thought he had HIV. He scared himself so bad with stress that he says he actually caused himself to have some of the symptoms (night sweats e.g.) but he was negative in the end.

For those who are HIV positive and have some resources, AZT just went generic this week and that's a mighty good thing...

I really hope things work out for you jennr. I wish I had something positive to say to help you but I'm in a similar boat except i've had herpes for the past 13 years or so. My outbreaks used to come with every cycle then they stopped and I didnt have any for a few years and now i just got a really bad one about 3 weeks ago that does not seem to be responding to the valtrax my dr prescribed. I usually take zovirax when i would have an ob and it would go away, this is my first time using valtrax and it seems to keep coming back or not going anywhere at all...along w/swollen lymph nodes that went away after a few days, severe headachs, flu like feeling for a day or so and i have like a little heat rash on my arms and its all made me turn into like the biggest hypochondriac...I am SO SCARED! I think i had a panic attack yesterday and almost passed out thinking maybe it's HIV this time. I PRAY to God it isnt, i think i'm stressing myself out so much like tohealths cousin that i'm developing symptoms. I get an HIV test every year along w/my pap & pelvic exam and i'm due for my next one in a couple weeks and i just dont know what to do. I just found this site today and it has calmed me down a little hearing other stories of folks who have had OBs that they were not able to get rid of and they just needed to boost their immune system, change their diet etc. I pray to God I come through this ok and that you do too jennr.

How do I post pic on hear

Hey @JS.245 and welcome to the website. The pictures aren’t that suggestive of herpes. Hard to tell from the pics what’s going on, but that could be a number of things. Are the larger bump bubble things persistent? What you have in the pics is hence independent of your herpes status.  The test results are inclusive - most people test over 5 if they are infected.  Do you have a history of oral cold sores?

Hey, just got a STD test a while ago after noticing these showing up at the base of my penis, but its been about 5 months since I was with someone and now these are showing up. It doesn't hurt nor do I have any other symptom that I know of. I'm trying to see what's up before I go to the doctors because I don't have insurance and I'm very anxious about the situation. the std test was expensive as is.

Just another set of supporting articles to a potential release date in 2024 giving hope to sufferers whom the standard of care is currently worthless: Promising Progress in clinical trials for Pritelivir (herpescureadvocacy.com) HSV Treatment Readies for Approval — Precision Vaccinations News

I have not found a cheaper source for Amenalief, and I've searched high and low. I have a thread called "Pritelivir at Last" you may want to follow as I have a strong belief that It may be available to the public in the summer of 2024 and as I find new info, I update the thread immediately. Now, may I suggest a combination of drugs that several others on this forum have found to be very effective over acyclovir alone? Myself and others have found that taking 40mg of omeprazole (Tagamet @dissolvedo2 ) with 1 gram of Valacyclovir in the morning and 1 gram of Valacyclovir in the evening alone for 3 days have had profound effectiveness at stopping outbreaks in their tracks. I'd like to remind you that I am not a doctor and at best I am personal researcher for what works for me. I @lw@ys share my findings with the forum in the hopes to help others alleviate their suffering. There is another drug combo that I have tried myself as well as others on this forum have tried and that I personally feel is a much more effective for myself. This combo is 1 gram of activated charcoal with 1-gram of valacyclovir in the morning followed by 1 gram of valacyclovir in the evening alone, again for 3 days. I have found that this has reduced my outbreaks to almost only once a year and they are mild at worse. Again, just a reminder that this works for me and may not work for you but I always feel that i have to share this with anyone that cannot get this virus under control so I hope my findings can help those of you who cannot achieve relief with the standard treatment alone. The stronger anti-virals come with risks and if I can help anyone avoid those risks then by all means I feel I have done some good in this world. I only ask that you let me know if either of these suggestions work for you so that I can document it in my notes. Good luck my friend!
