Hello, I am a new member but have been diagnosed with genital herpes 5 years ago. I have always been upfront and honest with the men that I have dated and they were always accepting. I even got married. I am now single and have to do this (date and inform) all over again after 3 yrs of marriage. I have met this really great guy, I told him about my condition, he accpeted it and we have been intimate. But we have not had sex (of any type), nor have had any direct skin to skin contact. It has pretty much been "making out." I feel like I am pretty familiar with this disease and the transmission, but this week he told me he is pretty sure he got it. Which of course upset me, but now that I have thought about,I wonder is it possible, considering what we have done. Again, there was no skin to skin contact. We both had always had at least underwear on

when we had any type of contact, for a lack of better words, it was just making out, or grinding or having the genital contact while still clothed with underwear. So my question for any that may know more than me, is it possible to spread the virus through cloth? I would appreciate any comments. However, I did suggest he get tested to confirm it. It is possible that it could be something else and he is just nervous because he is aware of my condition. Thank you.

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
