Diagnosed with H yesterday and confused :(

Hey guys

Ive joined this forum because I was visually diagnosed with H yesterday and Im quited shocked still and figure it might be a good way to learn more about H and find some support

Ive had a rough few days; Ive had so many blisters Ive stopped counting. They range in size, shape and colour....some are white blisters and others are red spots which have now turned into scabs (ew) and the pain in unbearable. Ive had terrible trouble with urinating...first of all it just burned like hell, I cant sit and pee, I have to kinda stand up which is just not normal....and last night to top it off, I had to be admitted into hospital because I couldnt pee at all and I could hardly walk because of the pain.

Is it just me? Am I just a wuss or am I having a severe attack? Are they all this bad?

I also have a confusing situation regarding who I got this from. Im 20 and ive had a few sexual partners, two of which Ive had unprotected sex; once with my ex boyfriend and a few times with my current bf. I also didnt receive oral sex until I was with ex boyfriend (so sometime between Jan 2005 and may 2005) but I had given oral before that. So i guess Ive really boiled it down to one of these two guys.

Now my ex, I remember that he had a couple of rather painful coldsores while we were going out, of course at the time I thought nothing of it and I cant for the life of me remember whether he went down on me when he had one. It possible but I just cant remember. We broke up end of May and I then moved to the other end of the country.

Now my current boyfriend, the hardest thing Ive ever had to do is tell him I have herpes. He was however understanding or too understanding??? He told me that his ex gf had herpes and she also had a breakout while she was pregnant with his child. He said he went to the doctor about 6 months after they broke up to get checked out (?) even though he reckons he had never sufferred any abnormal symptoms. The doctor told him since he hasnt had a breakout then he couldnt have it but I have been told my my doctor that it can take along time for some ppl to breakout and still can infect their partners. I cant help but wonder if he is in fact telling me the truth....I just wouldnt know.

Is there anyone that can offer some advice on my situation and ways to go forward with this??? Or anyone in the same kind of situation?

Hi. I have been in my current relationship for over 8 months. I had my 1st OB a few weeks ago. My b/f also has no symptoms of this virus. My last sexual partner was my ex husband over 2 yrs ago. Your 1st OB from what I have heard is the worst. I had many blister but when they healed they healed clean, no scabs. Going to the bathroom was terrible, the pain was unbearable to the point I would cry. My OB lasted 6 days. Are you taking any medication yet? If not I strongly advise you to have you dr give you something. The medication shortens the OB and they are less often. When I would have to pee I would hold onto the sink, I too could not sit down. I am sorry you have this virus, and I too wass in panic mode when I 1st found out I had it. I have done alot of research and have read these forums over and over. This is a great site for information and to meet new friends.

thanks girls.

I am now fully recovered from my first outbreak and I am feeling SOOO much better! Its amazing how great you feel after having been through so much pain and crap!

But also feeling alot more positive about it emotionally, etc. Its definatly not the end of the world and I can deal with it accordingly.

Im thankful to have such a supportive boyfriend, hes been fantastic.

So thanks for your comments.

Hey @JS.245 and welcome to the website. The pictures aren’t that suggestive of herpes. Hard to tell from the pics what’s going on, but that could be a number of things. Are the larger bump bubble things persistent? What you have in the pics is hence independent of your herpes status.  The test results are inclusive - most people test over 5 if they are infected.  Do you have a history of oral cold sores?

Hey, just got a STD test a while ago after noticing these showing up at the base of my penis, but its been about 5 months since I was with someone and now these are showing up. It doesn't hurt nor do I have any other symptom that I know of. I'm trying to see what's up before I go to the doctors because I don't have insurance and I'm very anxious about the situation. the std test was expensive as is.

Just another set of supporting articles to a potential release date in 2024 giving hope to sufferers whom the standard of care is currently worthless: Promising Progress in clinical trials for Pritelivir (herpescureadvocacy.com) HSV Treatment Readies for Approval — Precision Vaccinations News

I have not found a cheaper source for Amenalief, and I've searched high and low. I have a thread called "Pritelivir at Last" you may want to follow as I have a strong belief that It may be available to the public in the summer of 2024 and as I find new info, I update the thread immediately. Now, may I suggest a combination of drugs that several others on this forum have found to be very effective over acyclovir alone? Myself and others have found that taking 40mg of omeprazole (Tagamet @dissolvedo2 ) with 1 gram of Valacyclovir in the morning and 1 gram of Valacyclovir in the evening alone for 3 days have had profound effectiveness at stopping outbreaks in their tracks. I'd like to remind you that I am not a doctor and at best I am personal researcher for what works for me. I @lw@ys share my findings with the forum in the hopes to help others alleviate their suffering. There is another drug combo that I have tried myself as well as others on this forum have tried and that I personally feel is a much more effective for myself. This combo is 1 gram of activated charcoal with 1-gram of valacyclovir in the morning followed by 1 gram of valacyclovir in the evening alone, again for 3 days. I have found that this has reduced my outbreaks to almost only once a year and they are mild at worse. Again, just a reminder that this works for me and may not work for you but I always feel that i have to share this with anyone that cannot get this virus under control so I hope my findings can help those of you who cannot achieve relief with the standard treatment alone. The stronger anti-virals come with risks and if I can help anyone avoid those risks then by all means I feel I have done some good in this world. I only ask that you let me know if either of these suggestions work for you so that I can document it in my notes. Good luck my friend!
