Hiya. Sorry to hear you feel so low. Try not to let it get to you too badly, easier said than done but I'm here still smiling after having this for 30 years. You can do it.

Hi. I'm so sorry to hear that you're feeling depressed. Did you just get diagnosed? I know its hard to believe right now, but it does get better. I joined a little over two weeks ago after going to my doctor and finding out I had it. I already feel so much better. There is a lot of information on the right that is helpful and a lot of supportive people on this site. We all know what you're going through. You're not alone :) Take care and I hope you start feeling better soon.

Hello - I agree with norcallove and am in the same situation - about 2 weeks.

I finally went to my regular doctor and he made me feel 1000% better about it. He didn't mean to make it sound as if it was no big deal - but in the grand scheme of things, it really isn't a big deal. He told me he would help me through the process and said we would try suppressive therapy - that is if I even need it. I am researching my butt off on supplements and looking at the natural way of dealing with this instead of the regular meds - although I did take those for 10 days.

I often find during these times - focusing on the things that make you happy and thankful will do wonders for your spirit. You are not alone and you will get through it - believe me! Hang in there.

hey all, i have had this thing for 5 years and have a handful of experiences. I dont have time at this monent but would be glad to direct on suppliments and diet and stuff that I have been doing recently with success. When my OB is gone I feel very normal and actually in a jolly mood. Like getting over a contagious cold or flu.

Catch you later...

Ok, I got some time now. Had a long day working in the sun but it was very good

I will put my notes down here and then you can decide how to take em. I am not sure yet, however, that peoples 'triggers' are vastly different. Immune System, Nervous System, Virus...where are the variables?

Reading the diets for blood type and for 'H' really helped get me thinking in the right way for prevention. First thing I did for diet is cut out all the foods that I had been eating that were high in arginine or acid. For my blood type i considered that if Im not pH balanced than I am likely stressing my body and immune system in ways I dont even recognize. So I evaluated my foods there and was very strict for weeks to get my body in the 'place' it needed to be.

I found that I was consuming large amounts of foods that stress my body. Immediately I cut out, coffee, chocolate, alcohol, oranges, citrus juices, sodas, oatmeal.

Likewise, daily I started consuming tea, bananas, chicken, eggs, yogurt, apples.

I take multi vitamin, Lysine 2kmg/day, vit C. This is daily and regular. I have been using Organol P73 until it just ran out, 4-6 drops sublingual daily. Sublingual takes about 2 weeks to get used to the bitterness, at first its absolutely intolerable but just work thru it. I have Acyclovire but I decided to stop using it to see how the natural measures work. So far so good.

For blisters on non-mucus membrane i use olive oil/Oreganol oil mixed 1:1 as a topical. I think that this significantly reduced the severity and duration of the visible OB. This may burn at first but it gets easier (remember, be cautious at first because oil doesnt wash off wasily with water). My tolerance is strong now so that I use Oreganol without mixing olive oil.

The above may seem extreme or too much, but, 1) its really a healthy choice for anyone, 2) its not difficult, 3) for the benefits its not expensive, 4) my outbreaks were extremely frequent and having no OB's is everybit worth the effort and research.

Let me know how it goes.

can't be that way Bones! you have to get up, dress up and show up! you will feel better once you do. I am gonna make myself get up from here, clean up, dress up and get out there myself. The worse thing we can do is lay around dwelling on this and hiding from life.

Hi @CathM if you received oral sex in the days before the sores first appeared then it is important to be sure of type - culture tests do not type. Ask to see your result and see what it says. Is your partner going to test? This is also helpful.

Hello@WilsoInAus I only know that they took a swab and then I was notified that I was positive for HSV 2. I don’t know have any knowledge about whether it was a culture test?

Hi @CathM and welcome to the website. Yes there is little doubt you were infected by this new partner. This would have happened 2-10 days before the sores appeared. There is one question to settle quickly. Was your swab test a PCR with a result of HSV-2 detected. Or was it a culture test?

Hello. Just been diagnosed with HSV2 after a swab test. Absolutely devastated at the diagnosis. Had symptoms after sleeping with my new partner. Symptoms started about 6 weeks after our first encounter. Did I get it from him? We split just before the diagnosis. I feel like my life is over, please help 😥
