Hello All!

Hi! Just signed up...I've had hsv2 for four years now. I try to stay positive about it because it could have definitely been a lot worse. For the most part I don't even think about it until an outbreak(which I've been pretty lucky so far to have only suffered from two bad ones) or if I meet someone new and have to have the dreaded "talk". But anyways, I hope to make some new friends. I'm still trying to tinker with this site and figure things out. Later! :0)

Hi mimi --- you have a good attitude and you have found a good support site. Your experiences with herpes will undoubtedly help others who are newer to herpes than you!

Hi mimi. Welcome to this site. I have GHSV2, diagnosed about 3 weeks ago. This site has been amazing. I like your positive attitude, I have tried to remain positive through this as well. Of course the first few days were tough, but I'm feeling better and a lot more positive now. Looking forward to hearing about your experiences. :) Take care!!

Thanks! I'm glad you're feeling better now. I so can relate about the first few days, but what doesn't kills us makes us stronger and in a way this is a blessing...it has made me way more aware and cautious with my body and health.

Thank you!! :) I agree about what doesn't kill us make us stronger! I have always been a strong person, so after my initial freak out, I decided I wouldn't let this get me down! Thanks for your response! I plan on being even more cautious with my body and health. This has made me focus on it even more! I'm sure you'll be able to help a lot of people on this forum. :)

      Thanks for your response! I received unprotected oral 10 weeks ago and immediately after had stinging in my glans and weird nerve pain. I am positive for HSV1 due to cold sores I got as a child, but as recent as 9 weeks after this exposure have tested negative for HSV2.    im nervous that I may have acquired hsv1 again on my genitals since HSV2 is rarely acquired from oral sex and doesn’t shed hardly at all, but haven’t seen any sores yet. Just weird symptoms and this started recently in my buttcrack when I was taking antibiotics.   Any advice or perspective would be greatly appreciated. @WilsoInAus

      Hi @Throwaway765 and welcome. There is absolutely no concern over this being related to herpes. Something must be concerning you as to the possibility of herpes… what is it?

      @CHTany thoughts? Thanks!
