I just informed that I have HSV 1 and they don't know if it's gential because I never had an out break in either place (mouth or gential)...I had my blood takin because of a recent exposure...they said the hsv 1 has been in my system for awhile and from the recent exposure.........sooooooo now I was wondering about kissing if i have it on my lips??

I'm worried I'll never kiss with passion again :embarassed:

This may be the dumbest question but there is so much info on how to protect someone but what about the small stuff :dong:

i dont think it all important if it gential or not you have hv1 period. my heart goes out to you as i think hv1 is worse because you cannot hide it. I am no expert at this but i would think sense you never broke out ( concider yourself lucky) you may not have much to worry about. You have to have outbreak for someone to get it from you of course if u break out you can still shead just before and after a outbreak.

it seems if you had this in your system for a while without a outbreak then you might never get a outbreak, for more accurate info check out side board and hopefull other pewople will post to your question.

thank you verry much that is verry helpful info. I do have one more question though, how long do I have to get the blood test? before the Igg's build up to the point were it shows I have had it for a long time?

Well that's a hard one ... It can be 2-10 weeks for IGM.. After that for the IGG it could be anywhere from 6weeks to a year r longer :-(.. R u trying to figure out who u got it from?

Thanks for your response! I received unprotected oral 10 weeks ago and immediately after had stinging in my glans and weird nerve pain. I am positive for HSV1 due to cold sores I got as a child, but as recent as 9 weeks after this exposure have tested negative for HSV2.    im nervous that I may have acquired hsv1 again on my genitals since HSV2 is rarely acquired from oral sex and doesn’t shed hardly at all, but haven’t seen any sores yet. Just weird symptoms and this started recently in my buttcrack when I was taking antibiotics.   Any advice or perspective would be greatly appreciated. @WilsoInAus

Hi @Throwaway765 and welcome. There is absolutely no concern over this being related to herpes. Something must be concerning you as to the possibility of herpes… what is it?
