This is a fascinating article about research that I was previously unaware of. So far, the following researchers appear to be on the cutting edge of research related to the herpes virus, including treatments and vaccines.

PLEASE list any other researchers (especially outside of the US) who I don't know about. It's very encouraging to know that a number of virologists and scientists are exploring this issue...the more the better!!

It seems like there could be a "cure" of sorts (in theory). "No spread equals no disease," he says. So, my understanding is

that the vaccine would strengthen the body's immunity to the point where no further outbreaks occur OR any viral shedding

(again, in theory). I like that he cites polio, measles, and mumps as success of live virus vaccines and basically seems to

be using that as his template for research. It's so encouraging to know that multiple researchers are pursuing this...there's

hope!!

That is great. It is nice to see that there are a number of different researchers studying and pursuing methods of how to defeat this virus. It seems that within the past few years much more focus has been directed towards this pest. It is also comforting and important to realize that there are other researchers and pharmaceutical companies also pursuing treatment that may not be made as public. With all of this going on, it greatly increases hope that we may see either a cure or some type of permanent remedy over the next decade. They need our support. We need to make some noise to further support this fight. Thanks to everyone (researchers, advocates, and doctors, etc.) who is fighting to beat this jerk of a virus! TM, if I understand correctly, Halford's vaccine is prophylactic with minimal therapeutic properties. Nonetheless, it sounds like it has a good chance of success.

A Vaccine with known side effects would be great. I do agree this disease is a pest. But I would hate to take something that would make it worst. Its very good to know people are actively trying to find a cure.

That's good to know. With the SIU resarch, that makes four different prominent universities which are finding new ways and

strategies for approaching a vaccine and/or cure. I feel like a vaccine itself would be HUGE; it's not a "cure" but it

would be a game nature so to speak for everything about H - treament, understanding, stigma, ete. Is Dr. Halford aware of this

site and the interest in his work? I'd love to learn more about his progress and plans.

Actually, I had sent him a note earlier this week and made mention of this site. He had been chasing this virus for many, many years and is acutely aware of the collateral damage done by this virus. A very bright, articulate, astute and caring man--As I believe they all are.

Too bad cognitive dissonance is keeping these brilliant scientists from even at least brainstorming or trying to see if the "grace process for herpes" (using Vaccinia) would work. After all, vaccines containing other viruses, which causes different infections were always the cure for other viruses. Like smallpox. They used a cowpox virus. Not a damn smallpox virus with this and that removed. They are stuck in a fucking box. Maybe nature is smarter than you Mr. Science guy with your big shot degree. There are no true geniuses in the world anymore like Tesla and Rife, only specialized robots who specialize in only one field. But we probably don't need em.
