hi kenworth

Read up on the info on the right hand side >>>> cos the more you know & understand about Herpes the better you will be able to help your ex. Btw, I'd say she's lucky to still have your support.

She's very lucky to have your support. What a contrast to some "ex" situations!

Like d00m says, the links on the right side of the page have a wealth of very good, balanced info. If you find something specific that isn't answered, post a question.

Some quick tips ---

Painful urination is a common problem. If your ex is dealing with that, tell her to:

  • Drink plenty of water to keep her urine dilute (less acidic)
  • Urinate while sitting in a tub of water,

  • or in the shower with the stream of water hitting her parts,

  • or while pouring a container of water over her parts sitting on the toilet
  • Get some numbing cream (contains lidocaine or xylocaine or similar) to put on the area
  • Try diaper ointment with zinc on the sores
  • Don't use paper to wipe --- instead use a hair dryer on cool
  • Take a bath with Epsom Salts, to soothe and also help heal the lesions

Hope that's a start on helping.

She is very lucky that your being supportive even as her ex. Not many ex's help out with each other. I know mine for sure would care less if I had gotten it. I'am still sorta new on the GH part myself, having to learn as I go dealing with a parent of mine with it.

Amenamevir has a plasma half-life of 8-9 hours (as opposed to 2-3 hours for acyclovir), which means you're actively suppressing the virus for a much longer part of the day. Add to that the non-linear synergy of different mechanisms, and for many this combination could mean full symptom relief. We don't know yet, but it's not impossible. Can't wait for Amanalief to get approval for HSV and come to the US. It's all up to the FDA really. https://accp1.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/cpdd.630

Doesn't this suck. Using protection and still catching this BS. Uggh, my life story!!

I think Dr. Jerome is just being cautious. I've followed what he's done and have 100% confidence in him. Predicting the exact number of years to a cure would be hard, but their last article about HSV makes me think it can't be too far off.

Did you ever find out if this was herpes or not?

@GotMeAtLast I doubt the doctor actually told you that, that doesn’t explain why you kept coming here looking for validation.  By your own admission, you have had oral HSV-1 for years. Further you have never swabbed positive from your genital region. Everyone is allowed to form their own conclusions on the basis of that truth. If you wish to conclude you have genital herpes, that’s OK. If I want to conclude you don’t, that’s OK.
