herpes for 27 years

Hello all,

I have had hvs2 for the last 27 years. I haven't had an outbreak in years. Is the virus still as active and the risks of transmitting the same after all this time.

On average I have a very minor outbreak once every 3-4 years. Is this a false sence of security or is by body better able to cope with it?

People that do not get outbreaks that they can see or feel still shed the virus asymptomatically... just not as often as somebody that gets outbreaks. The trouble is that you never know when you are shedding. There are a handful of days during the year where you will shed and during that time when the virus is active on the surface of the skin is when it's still possible to pass the virus on to somebody else.

There is a great transmission section over on www.westoverheights.com inside the free herpes handbook. Take a look at that when you have some time... I think you will find it to be quite helpful.

You are just lucky in that you don't get outbreaks all the time... I think that's GREAT.
