TOUCHING?

I am so paranoid right now.

I am afraid to even touch my boyfriend (intamately I mean) or have him touch me for fear of spreading the virus to another part of my body. I know you are supposed to use protection for oral sex/sex, but what about simply for a handjob? Also I am afraid to touch myself as well. Can you masterbate with H? I've heard that it can spread to your hands -does that mean I can never touch myself again? HELP!

Yes, you can spread herpes to other parts of your body. Herpes on your finger is called Herpes Whitlow and it actually used to be an accupational risk of dental hygienests but now the use of gloves is mandated.. I imagine that it could be contracted via the genitals as well. Honestly though, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I have type 1 oral and type 2 genital and it hasn't spread to other parts of my body. I know there is a risk but that risk is pretty small seeing as how my immune system already has a handle on the virus. You could always wash your hands afterwards...

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
