Why can there be a vaccine for Chicken Pox and Shingles and not HSV? They all fall under the same family and are similar from what I understand? Would getting the chicken pox vaccine help?

C'mon there's got to be some med students here. How is the strain different in terms of reacting to a vaccine? Are there any benefits to getting a chicken pox vaccine in suppressing if not eliminating HSV?

I am convinced there is a cure but pharmaceutical companies are holding out because there so much money to be made. They can just make a shot that you have to get every year for a few hundred bucks. Or a one time shot for a thousand or so. There's still money to be made for them as I'm sure some idiots out there will get infected over and over.

      Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

      Been a few weeks it went away but reappeared again tiny red marks not raised spots or anything no pain or itching ,I have had all negative tests on Sti's ..

      Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
