paranoia or second outbreak?

Recommended Posts

kiwi turtle

just wondering if what I am feeling is a second outbreak, the tail end of my first outbreak or just me being paranoid!

my first ob was ending around this weekend. the tingling/stinging subsided, i could pee normally and most of the sores except two had healed, but I couldn't even feel them. now half way through the week i am getting a little painful itch down there and just noticed a "paper cut" in the same spot as my worst sore from the last OB. i just finished my alyclovir on monday.

However, I do play roller derby and I had sex with my boyfriend tuesday thinking my OB was finished. It was a bit painful as I hadn't had sex in nearly a month and I'm a small girl and he is uhm, gifted in that region. The reason why I think derby may be a problem is because yesterday a fell and got a skate wheel straight up the vag which could have caused a little bit of damage. I didn't check, i just got up to skate it off.

so, what do you think it is? I am newly diagnosed (less than a month) with genital HSV1

wow, hmmm.... (in deep thought)... getting hit with a skate wheel in the vagina is pretty serious, maybe that incident irritated the healing cut. Or maybe it's your first OB completing itself. My first OB was hellishly painful and took three weeks to completely disappear.

Amenamevir has a plasma half-life of 8-9 hours (as opposed to 2-3 hours for acyclovir), which means you're actively suppressing the virus for a much longer part of the day. Add to that the non-linear synergy of different mechanisms, and for many this combination could mean full symptom relief. We don't know yet, but it's not impossible. Can't wait for Amanalief to get approval for HSV and come to the US. It's all up to the FDA really. https://accp1.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/cpdd.630

I think Dr. Jerome is just being cautious. I've followed what he's done and have 100% confidence in him. Predicting the exact number of years to a cure would be hard, but their last article about HSV makes me think it can't be too far off.

Did you ever find out if this was herpes or not?

@GotMeAtLast I doubt the doctor actually told you that, that doesn’t explain why you kept coming here looking for validation.  By your own admission, you have had oral HSV-1 for years. Further you have never swabbed positive from your genital region. Everyone is allowed to form their own conclusions on the basis of that truth. If you wish to conclude you have genital herpes, that’s OK. If I want to conclude you don’t, that’s OK.
