anyone have persistent sexual arousal ? I unfortanatly am having a ob and for some reason I can't relieve this sexual pressure after my "self diagnosis"of psas. I wonder if it has to do with herpes and the outbreak. I can not stand it.:argh: I need to know does anyone out ther feel this way or has ever felt this way ? I didn't really give graphic details but two nights ago (before ob began) I was so aroused that I over stimulated the area trying to relieve the swelling and the feeling after many ,many failed attempts I slept for only an hour. I woke up to a cold sore and the herp on my genitals. I noticed it right away the blood never left the area , still utterly engorged and I was in constant climax..its crazy and very annoying if your wondering. At first I thought it was hormones due to the change in my vaginal fluids, but as I had to go work I was having spontanious Orgasms right there in front of everyone and duh yes I did not make it known but since about 11 hours ago I have had about 20 or more orgasm's with NO stimulation. just comes out of nowhere! I have that aroused feeling non stop and I have tried to fix it myself it goes away for about 10 min. and as annoying as herpes it keeps coming back! All this and a painful outbreak at the same time. I want to know if it can be related to the h and how do I stop? I just find it to nuts that my ob and this are happening @ the same time so they have to be related...........right? I hope there is one story so I don"t feel so creepy..thanks

I work in the medical field and I've never even heard of that before. Sounds like something out of a movie. I'm really sorry to hear it though, I hope you can find a way to relieve the symptoms. Have you seen a doctor for this?

no it is about 28 hours into it . I am so uncomfortable! I looked up my symptoms and it fits persistent sexual arousal syndrome now named restless gential syndrome..I am not a doctor but it sounds 100% like it..I have to go see my gyno tomorrow because I can't go in public until it is fixed *yikes* From all the reading it does not seem very far fetched that the two things are related. Its caused by change of hormones, increase in discharge I guess these things can send the wrong signals to the brain and make you "stuck" in this state. It is the most interesting thing I have experienced and I am really into human sexuality. But I really wan this to stop before I go crazy! (i think greys anatomy had a crazy story like this haha)

It does kind of make sense...I mean if herpes is nerve related...and you happen to get an OB on a nerve in your clitoris (and there are a lot of nerves in your clitoris) the message could conceivably get mixed up by the time it got to your brain. Combine that with localised swelling and you have got the girl version of priapism (which I did read somewhere they treat with pseudoephedrin...old school cold and flu remedy, the new stuff doesn't seem to have pseudo in it any more, bum...what about aspirin that thins you blood maybe that would help it drain and give you some pain relief)

With my OBs on the outer labia I swear I can feel when the blisters pops...I can imagine having that on the clitoris would feel like constant arousal. I really feel for you...that sounds awful. I hope it sorts it self out soon and that the dr can help you...you don't want to go on too long like that...ouch.

Maybe there is some sort of safe numbing spray or gel you can actually put on it to calm those poor nerves down. Or an ice pack to deal with the swelling...if you can get the swelling down that might also relieve some of the pressure in your clitoris and maybe give you some relief.

I really hope it goes away soon....and never comes back!

There are 4 nerves of orgasm. Two are in the superficial layers of the pelvic floor and beginnings of the vagina and rectum. They are the pelvic and pudendal nerves. There are two other nerves affecting deeper into the vagina, cervix, uterus, etc, called the hypogastric and vagus nerves.

The pelvic and pudendal nerves - one type or both - are activated when an outbreak is on the outside or just inside a little ways. This can cause sexual stimulation.

My outbreak is in the pudendal nerve branch. I notice a swelling/aching there before an ob. I found if I masturbated or had any sexual stimulation I was ensuring an outbreak. If I use cold compresses and avoid stimulating these tissues I can often avoid an ob.

Torture to have such stimulation to avoid. Bleh.

Numbing sounds like a good way to go. This sounds very uncomfortable.... I don't mean to be insensitive but I wish there was ANY pleasure in my OB. I'm on my first one STILL after 4 weeks. It was on it's way to healing and before the last blister completely healed I got 2 brand new ones near my butt and a whole BUNCH on my pubic area that are pinprick size and resemble ingrown hairs.. I haven't been able to get off since this OB started a month ago. There's no desire to touch the area except to examine it or rub zinc on it. There's nothin good about either extreme I guess.

I hope you find some relief. :(

I wish I had arousal. Ever since my Herpes diagnosis my libido is practically SHOT. I wish there was some sort of magic pill to bring it back. I went from having sex with my fiance at least 2-3 times a week, to having sex at least bi-weekly :( It sucks.

WOW I dont EVEN want to IMAGINE clit herpes! I mean OUCH.. right ladies?

Anyway, sexual arousal is more a function of arousing the BRAIN'S pleasure centers FIRST, then the autonomic nervous system kicks in (sympathetic and parasympathetic nerve fibers).

Moreover, achieving sexual arousal and satisfaction is a more elegant process of the central nervous system than one would think.

The body's greatest erogenous zone is the brain. If your head aint in the game..don't count on a hit, much less a home-run.

This is especially true for women, AND it also explains the decreased libido/sexual response many experience when stressed, anxious or depressed (like for instance over herpes).

That feeling of "fullness" in your naughty bits is more a function of circulation, that is increased blood flow, causing congestion in the sexual organs. This can and does happen of course when the body detects an infectious process (such as herpes).

The lymphatic system will flood the area with WBC's and phagocytes to attack the invader.

This feeling of fullness also often happens to us women when we are ovulating or menstruating..ever notice that?

With men, it's also a function of hydraulics. Every month the male makes new spermatazoa contained in the seminal fluid. This causes pressure in the pipes, so to speak.

He will have to release the semen eventually whether voluntarily or involuntarily.

Don't forget the all-important chemicals call neurotransmitters. Think of them as electrochemical messengers traveling along the nerve fibers.

Neurotransmitters involved in mediating electrical impulses of pleasure caused by sexual stimuli, for example, are completely different from the chemicals involved in the pain response, such as the nerve impulses you experience from an impending outbreak.

HERE again, it bears repeating.. THE BRAIN must fully INTERPRET all of these signals before the actual reflex (orgasm) can occur.

I'm tempted to think herpes would gain some popularity if we all had such results. Again, I don't mean to belittle your plight, it sounds frustrating and very distracting from every day life--(which is true of the pain and discomfort symptoms too)...I just kind of wish my herpes did something nice FOR ME for a change. I can't even have chocolate anymore without herpes wanting some too.

I have the same problem. It is horrible. I thought I was nuts, but with my first outbreak, I had that feeling of being sexually stimulated. I am having an outbreak now.....no sores, just pain in the vaginal and rectal area. But I am also experiencing the feeling of being sexually stimulated. It is very annoying. I started the acyclovir a few hours ago, so I hope that takes care of things soon. I'm so glad to know that somebody else is experiencing the same thing..........

I am so glad to know that somebody else is having the same issue.....the feeling of being sexually stimulated. It is horrible. The first outbreak I had I noticed this feeling. I am having a herpes outbreak now minus the sores..........just an aching in the vaginal and rectal area, but the sexual stimulation thing is part of it. I started my acyclovir treatment so hopefully it will let up soon.

Interesting thread...but I don't think it applies just to women as I've been having a similar experience. I've had the tingling in my lower back for a couple of weeks now. It seems to feel as if it is traveling from my lower back to my scrotum and up my urethra giving me the feeling of arousal. Leaving me feeling as if I have to "relieve" the sexual stress I guess is how I would say it...took two goes at "doing the deed" before I felt any comfort at all. Interesting indeed.

:thrasher:

Ahhh! I've been experiencing something similar, i feel so sensitive that i can feel it being moved when i walk or pull up my underwear after using the bathroom. Its like constant wanting relief, lol and it didn't start until i got hsv2 o.O my ob is on the labia minora right before you get into the canal. Its gotten worse for me while my ob has gotten better @_@ i thought i was the only one experiencing this.

I'm really sorry for your discomfort. I have finally gotten relief from the sexual aroousal syndrome, but now my inner thighs are just so sensitive I can barely walk. I think a good soak in the tub is very helpful.....

I agree. My first ob was 2 years ago, and I had the horrible sores. Since then I have only had the pain in my legs and aching in the rectal and vaginal area.....no sores. I'm very grateful for that.

To all those who think it sounds pleasurable, it's not! It feels like when someone is going down on you, you orgasm and they keep going.... too much and ow!

I think i get like this right before and during obs, i recently started getting that "ooooh" tingle and then the next day had an ob (maybe i caused it by taking care of that....ohhh lmao) but i'm still experiencing that tingle and its driving me nuts! it doesn't hurt me like it does you kaminianseo, its just annoying to be constantly arroused.

Hey @WilsoInAus ok thank you, I will do my best to move on and stop trawling forums haha.
    • WilsoInAus
Hey @sgt98 but there is no feasible infection or outbreak to suppress and antivirals do not suppress an initial outbreak in any event
    • sgt98
Thanks @WilsoInAus I understand apologies for this but the only other thing I am worried about is that I did take a course of Famvir on day 1 as I felt like I was having an outbreak of cold sores and am worried that has suppressed the initial outbreak genitally

Hi @sgt98 it is not feasible to obtain a HSV-2 infection from receiving oral sex - only HSV-1 is feasible but you've already got that and immunity from any further infection with HSV-1. You do not need any further tests for HSV. You're feeling regret, try to forgive yourself and calm down, let the rational take over. You know the answer here and it won't be long until you believe it too.

Hi @NerdP423 and welcome to the website. You raise a lot of points and I think the best way to address your concerns is add some comments at each key point. I've copied your note again below and added these comments in square brackets. I appreciate any insight (even speculation) as to what has been going on with me. I'm a 37y/o M. I last was intimate with a new partner on 2/11/2022, and a few days later started having a huge amount of discomfort in my face. [The first thing that happens though is that herpes causes lesions or at least some skin based disruption. Other symptoms are then related to the actions of the immune system responding to the virus. Without lesions, it is highly questionable that the ailment is related to herpes, yet testing is useful if you have concerns as you have done so.] About a month after that [herpes causes issues within days, if the first 'symptoms' are a month later - its extremely unlikely they are related to herpes], significant discomfort downstairs, however every test I have ever taken for HSV 1 and 2 has been negative. Here are the details: Face: Previously, some significant tingling and itching on the right side of my mouth, lips and chin (still there, but milder) [herpes does not cause general tingling and itching, it can cause a reasonably concentrated feeling of itch/throb from which a herpes lesion appears within hours]. Occasional hot flashes near my right eye, cheek and ear [herpes does not do this, it may be a immune response to something, or stress]. Sometimes it will feel like the skin is crawling on the right side of my face [herpes does not cause a general crawling sensation]. Never seen anything that looked like a traditional cold sore [that's extremely telling, even people with associated atypical symptoms will have experienced herpes lesions]. Occasionally, the left side of my face will have a momentary feeling of skin crawling, but it's so mild that I am not really worried about it. Downstairs: Thankfully, most of these are now milder than they were before. Occasional momentary pinch of pain at the base of my genitals. [herpes does not cause a general pinch feeling.] Aching pain in my boxer area (groin, leg folds) [nor this] Occasional feeling of cold in my boxer area, butt, or lower back. ( also in my shins and occasionally even my arms) [nor this] On 4/30/2022, I had been in discomfort for almost two months. I scratched an itch, noticed it hurt, and then checked - I did have an open ulcer down there. Took myself to the ER to get swabbed, came back negative. [If this was a PCR then this will be very conclusive.] Practitioner said it may come back negative because it was already open. However the lab report noted that it definitely didn't look like what you'd expect a typical first herpes outbreak to look like [how would the lab know??]. All blood tests negative so far. I had two western blots, the second one was nine months after exposure. [Two negative Westernblots!!! Many that's real convincing]. All other swabs also negative. I went to urgent care, because I know the timeliness of when the Swab is taken matters. One time, a swab was not done, because practitioner said it was folliculitis and wouldn't swab it (It was at my belt line). [Belt line is highly unlikely to relate to herpes.]   A blood test revealed I had low-ish B12 (technically in range, but at the very low end, especially for a man of my size). I had a series of B12 injections, and I am taking a B12 supplement. I am not taking any lysine or arginine at the moment. I was taking the Arganine to see if I could induce an outbreak. [This is irrelevant, there is no known linkage between herpes outbreaks and arginine/lysine intake - its a myth - and B12 infers nothing.] I think what I am asking is - has anyone here ever repeatedly tested negative over and over again over long period of time, before getting a definitive answer, be a positive test, or something else? [The answer to this is: Extremely few people with a HSV-1 infection and even more rarely HSV-2 test repeatedly negative on Westernblot and actually carry the virus. Of the cases that I know of that had delayed detection by a swab and negative blood tests in the meantime (and that's only 3-4 cases), they had some form of lesions within days of infection but did not obtain a swab for various reasons and then obtained a positive swab of a subsequent lesion with the record being 11 months later. A couple of the cases did have some 'background' symptoms they thought might be related to herpes but that isn't ascertained and some did not have any unusual symptoms at all apart from the lesions. Hence as you did not have lesions around your mouth or lips within days of the last sexual encounter as is exceptionally common for a primary oral HSV-1 infection, that pretty much rules out herpes orally as it is. The fact that you had no genital symptoms for a month also rules out genital herpes. I am not aware of anyone at all who has genuinely gone on to test positive by swab or blood in your specific circumstances. There are hundreds if not more than a thousand experiences on this website alone that are similar to yours that are truly negative for herpes I'm one of them!]
