Possibly Cold Sores?

Ok Well, heres what happened

So a friend of my drank from someones cup, who didnt have a cold sore present at the time, then developed one a few days after. The same person who drank from that persons cup, drank from mine, and she didnt have a cold sore present at all. Now heres my question, i have a red patch on my lip, and i am freaking out that it might be herpes. I normally get black heads along my lips and sometimes they do get red. but this maybe the size of a grain of rice. When i squezzed it, clear liquid came out of it. Could it be a blocked pore? Could it be from me trying to get the black heads off my lip? Please respond. It also feels a bit chapped, could that be from me rubbing my lips together and rubbing it with my toung? last thing, it was really noticeable yesterday, but through the night and day, it got smaller until i tried to see if i could pop/get something out of it.

Truly Worried

Joe

Whatever you do, try to leave it alone and give it time to heal. To me, it doesn't sound like a cold sore. However, refrain from sharing drinks with anyone you know or think may have cold sores.

If you are experiencing any flu like symptoms or tiredness, then you may have a cold sore. I would suggest getting Abreva and seeing if that will help speed the healing.

Again, leave it alone and give it time to heal. If you are very concerned that it is a cold sore, see a doctor and get a blood test to see if you are positive for the HSV-1 virus.

Hey, thanks a lot,

I dont have any flu like symptoms, this is day 3 of it being there, i acctually dont feel any different than i normally do. I woke up this morning and it was the colour of a pimple, like ones i get. I wiped my face with some oxypads and it tried it up.

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
