Types of sores- warning might be TMI

I have had HSV2 for a little over 4.5 years (just posted my first post in the stories section). I seem to get two different types of sores the first and most frequent I can feel coming on - tired/flu like, shooting pains, irritated feeling that comes out in a red spot that most of the time comes out in little blisters that break and become scabby then heal.

The other thing is a definate lump that doesn't get lead in symptoms apart from a bit of ichiness and is less frequent. The lump will be sore and sometimes has throbbing dull pain and is offern yellowish.

I am not sure if this all the herpes or if I have two different things happening. I would love to here from anyone where they get the lump type sores or if anyone just has any advise for me.

Hi Kirsty...

The second lump that you described does not sound like herpes to me. I'm not a medical professional, but it doesn't sound like anything I've heard of relating to a herpes outbreak. The outbreak I get on my buttock starts out as a huge red lump, but quickly turns into a blister and it's not yellow.

I get those lumps also but they are swollen and infected sweat glands. Mine get huge and are very, very sore. Can't even hardly touch them. They can be removed but I choose to treat them instead. My doctor prescribes me Retin-A for them and they usually go away or go down within a few days. I would get that lump checked out if I were you.

Thanks for your reply. MAny years ago when I first started getting these lumps I did get one checked out and was told that it is the same thing as you get (infected sweat glands). What I get is very similar to what you describe so I think that must be it, I supose I just wasn't convinced by the doctor. Just my luck to get another type of painful thing down there.

I think I will just try and remember to mention it the next time I go to the doctors for more meds.
