had hsv2 for 18 yrs, right below my eye

My first one was on my thigh, thought it was a bug bite, went to the doc and he said herpes, never got a specific type test done, then I broke out twice, once a yr, on my genital area. For the past 16 years it is always right below my eye and only every two years, triggered I believe, by the sun, lying out at the pool. I have never been to the doc for medicine until this yr, too embarrassed to go when my eyelid is all red and puffy.

I have been married for all this time and had 3 kids in the meantime, never told and have yet to tell anyone I have herpes, I should have told my ob/gyn but, again, was too embarrassed. I hope anyone else pregnant will def. speak up. My daughter has a rare eye disease and I don't know if it is because I had an outbreak whilst I was preg with her (never during delivery btw) or if it was something else. I will never know, so ladies, please tell your doc if you are pregnant !!!!!

I feel I have been cursed twice, once with the herpes, then to have an ob on my eye every single time, thankfully it's only rare. I don't know how my husband has not gotten it, I have yet to see him with an ob and I never told him I had it either, so we have never talked about my eye problem, maybe he suspects i have something but has yet to talk to me about it. I could go on and on, but will spare you all..

You need to have your herpes confirmed. You can't always assume that every single itch or rash is herpes. See a doctor.
