help, constant ob for 2+ months... will this stop?

I contracted hsv about 2 and a half months ago. I had one good sized blister on my perineum and it went away, then I continued to get a few small sores on the lower lips (vaginal, near perineum) back to back, also redish areas around my anus. I have had everything from mild irritation feelings to burning all over my anus and lower vagina. Also random tingling, shooting electric shock feelings, etc, all the stuff you hear about. I started on zovirax a little over a week ago. It seems to have made it somewhat better, but I continue to get a few small sores, then they go away very quickly. Still getting irriation and tingling feelings randomly. I'll feel ok for a few hours at a time then its back.

Has anyone out there had this continuous type of ob? From everything I've found on the web, the prognosis for this is not so good. It sounds like when there are initial chronic ob's this tends to continue and ob's don't decrease over time as much as people with occasional ob's.

If anyone has had this and then had it stop and behave more like "typical" herpes, PLEASE respond, I am getting depressed. I think any hope of a healthy life or love life is gone.

Also, has anyone had it take some time before the anti-virals work better?

*btw, I have also, for the past week, cut out caffeine, chocolate, nuts, to some extent wheat products and sugar. I am taking Lysine along w/ the zovirax.

Hi Soygirl....

I tried to respond to you yesterday, but for some reason, this site gives me a hard time so usually, I'll just read. I have to sign in up to 4 - 5 times before it will accept my ID and password. If I finally do get signed in and try to respond, it takes me back to the sign in page after I hit enter and the response does not show up.

Reading your post is oh so familar to me. You are definitely not alone. I could have written it myself. I have had herpes for 23 years now and I do have constant outbreaks. I have since day 1 of diagnosis. This does not mean that you will have the same history. Our bodies build up resistance to the virus and you may find that your outbreaks will cease up in time. Do not get discouraged.

My outbreaks started around my vaginal area and years later, started showing up around my butt and on my buttock. I don't know if I spread it because we women are taught to wipe front to back or it needed to spread it wings. The longest I've gone without an outbreak is about 6 months.

Have you tried daily suppressive medications? If not, I would highly suggest you talk to your doctor about it. I usually only take them when I'm involved with someone, but I've changed my thinking on that. Even though the outbreaks do get less painful and less irratating in time, it is so much better not having to deal with them. Since I started back on the daily suppressives 3 weeks ago, I have been outbreak free. I take 2 generic Zovirax pills a day. I usually get an outbreak at the start of my period, but this month, so far so good. I'm going to be having a hysterectomy, so I'm hoping that will help from having the monthly outbreaks.

I'm sorry you are having to deal with so many outbreaks. It is a pain in the butt (literally). I pray in time, you will stop. You might want to try the Zovirax cream and the pills at the same time for a current breakout which is what my doctor suggested. It helped heal the last breakout quicker and the pills have kept them away completely.

Good luck to you and I hope you and everyone else here has a wonderful holiday.

Hey @Zrozpaczona9 that looks like folliculitis to me, that’s independent of the question of herpes. The doctor is wrong in the sense that a negative IgG test is beyond reasonable doubt that you do not have herpes. It is a small percentage of people for which a false negative occurs. The doctor is right to take a swab to increase your confidence that there’s no herpes present. I’m sure you’ll have your result soon.

In this forum we will discuss does lume work Lume is paraben-free and uses several natural ingredients like Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, tapioca starch, and Maranta arundinacea root powder (also known as arrowroot powder) to control odor and sweat. One of the key Lume deodorant ingredients is mandelic acid, an AHA found in skin care products, which also has an antibacterial effect.

Ibuprofen medicine is a painkiller. Can you take ibuprofen on an empty stomach  Some people take medicine empty stomach which is not good for our health. Because painkiller kind of medicine is very strong and can harm your liver. Medicine makes many strong ingredients. like Lactose, corn starch, hypromellose, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide (E171), and carnauba wax.
