i was recently diagnosed with hsv 2. I noticed little bumps on my lip (never goes away-if i open my lip wide i can see them). Now, they're starting to get bigger white mucus dot ones on my bottom lip, but i put salt on it and it went away in a day. I don't want it to get big and look obvious. I will be so embarassed.

now my eyes are starting to burning, pressure & white mucus in the outter corners. I went to the eye dr who said it's dry eyes, but i dont think so. I am very scared and i dont want to go blind.

my husband and i been together for over 10 yrs and i dont know how this started (approx 2 mths now). I'm scare to let my child and husband touch me. I want to get both on them tested because they have no symptoms.

i'm not on any medicine yet, but reading all the websites are freaking me out. My life is over, just waiting to die. Scared to eat because i dont want an outbreak, etc. I dont know, just needed to vent. Thanks for listening.

and to think, i went to 2 doctors who told me it dont look like herpes, but when i took the igg blood test- it came back positive.

You are not alone. I only found out Monday about being positive for both 1 and 2. Don't know how to tell my wife yet. I'm scared to tell her because we been together for 13 years. Hate to think a stupid act on my part may have caused this.

We're going to get through this. I know it's hard, but you have to tell her. I know what your saying. I was scared to tell my husband, but i didn't do anything wrong. I must have been infected for many years b4 him without any symptoms. I get STD testing every year and didn't know they did test for that. I still wouldn't have known if my lip didn't start burning. I'm annoyed with the lip outbreaks every other day. I still don't know about treatments and food diets to avoid outbreaks. I also have a thyroid problem.

ON A POSITIVE NOTE, WE'RE BLESSED BECAUSE IT COULD'VE BEEN WORST.

Hey guys, I was in the same position as you guys 2 years ago. Thankfully we are still together and going strong.

Be honest, its tough, I had tears and fights for a week, but once the panic was out of us both, we settled and got on with life.. it does go on! And as for you NotCool, please please be brave enough to tell her before she has an OB, maybe the doc can put her on something to help clear the blood to prevent it, my fiancée has never had an OB but does carry because of me :(

Please click on this link, I made a thread about products that help me.. in a clear list with links, the more you read about herpes on Google etc, the more confusing it gets.. I'm no expert, but this is what has been helping me out the last 2 years..

Hope it helps you both! Your going to be just fine, in 6 months you'll wonder what all the fuss was about!

Peaceful,

How are your eyes? I was recently diagnosed with HSV1 and have the same issues with my right eye. It started about 4 weeks after I contracted HSV and has been constant for close to 9 weeks. I've been to 3 ophthalmologists and they all say dry eyes too. Just never having an eye issue before seems like too much of a coincidence. It is really bothersome. Wanted to see if you found anything that has helped.

Hi'

Im also in the same situation. I was diagnosed with Herpes 1 genital and oral. I've been with my boyfriend for three years. We broke up for a few months because I found out he was cheating. I had sex with an old friend one time and when I went to be checked for std's I found this out. I'm scared to talk to him because I dont know what to say. He could've gave it to me or I couldve contracted it from the other guy. Im scared this will tear us apart.

Hi Disbelief37, I just went to another doctor less than a week ago and they're still saying it's a chronic dry eye condition. Now, I woke up this morning and my eye was irritated again. I lifted my lid and I see a bump inside. I guess I should look for another doctor for a third opinion. IF I GET ANY ANSWERS I'LL LET YOU KNOW. JUST TRYING TO STAY POSITIVE. EVERYDAY IS SOMETHING NEW.

ONE WEBSITE SAY MANY PEOPLE ARE MIS-DIAGNOSED IN THE EARLY STAGES. THE DOCTORS NEED TO DO MORE RESEARCH ON THE TOPIC.
