An interesting things about HSV is that when it enters into a cell, it loses its outer coating or envelope. If the HSV DNA does leave the cell, the host cell will die because the viral dna has to take some of the cell membrane with it. It seems that killing the viral DNA in the cell with nanoparticles is a great idea.

i guess this is where nanoviricides technology will come in. I know that they are supposed to be working on both a topical cream and a little further down the line a nanoviricide to clear hsv from the ganglion. I agree i think its a great approach.
