the genital herpes virus can affect the parts of your body that the sacral nerve enervates. your bum, vagina or penis, and even areas on your thigh.

Hello and welcome.

You are most infectious during the first year of having HSV. Since you have genital hsv, it lives in your sacral nerve and can affect the "boxer short" region when you have an OB. So, it could show up near your anus but it doesn't mean it has spread just that it has reached the skin surface via a different nerve path in the boxer short region.

If you have an OB and touch the sore and then another area, like your mouth or eye, you could spread it. Realistically, who would touch a sore and then their eye? My suggestion would be to read up about this topic under the "Prevention" section from the topics on the left of the web site. Common sense will take you a long way here. Good luck to you.
