Hi..

I have been diagnosed with HSV-1, oral herpes a few weeks ago, but the kicker is, is that I have had my one and only outbreak thus far down in the genital region.I have researched ALOT, but still have questions...Hope someone can help me out :?

1-If I were to have oral sex performed on me,(not during an outbreak) and being this is where my outbreak occured, does it give the chances of him contracting HSV-1 as well?

2-Has anyone used Lysine? has it lessened the amount of outbreaks?

Thanks

Still trying to cope with this

Yes, it's possible to contract herpes via oral sex.

L-Lysine doesn't do squat for herpes. This is the information that folks have sent me on it:

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the reply :)

If you don't mind me asking..what type of "H" do you have?, and are you taking any supplements to hinder outbreaks? Have you had any luck informing a partner? This is by biggest fear. Tonight will be the test I guess- I have a "friend" who is coming over, and I will be having this talk

Thanks

You are most welcome!

I don't mind you asking at all. I was diagnosed with herpes simplex type-2 about 10 years ago.

:arrow:Here's a little bit more about me.

and are you taking any supplements to hinder outbreaks?

In the beginning when I was first diagnosed I would get flare ups a lot. After some time had gone by I decided to go on suppressive therapy. I did suppression for two years with Valtrex. It was the best thing I could have done for myself. I stopped suppressive therapy in 2001 and now the only time I am on suppression is right before I'm about to give birth. To date I might get maybe one outbreak per year. Considering how things used to be for me... that's pretty darn good.

Good luck with "the talk." I'll be thinking about you and sending you good vibes.

Be sure and let us know how it turns out, ok?

How my first "talk" went...

Hi Angela-

Your story sounds so amazing that I can only dream about one day...thanks for sharing it with me :) Well...my talk did not go as planned..although I said basically everything that I a had on my mind about the topic..see, in november I was talking with two guys, I made the choice of turning one down and going after the other one as obviously it is not the thing to do and date two guys. I had in my back of my mind if I made the right choice, and hoping that I did :? Well....I did not make the right choice, the guy who I chose to date gave me this virus, and we happened to only date for not even a month, before him breaking up with me. The other guy had send me an email recently just asking how my holidays were etc... he came by last night....I explained what I have, how I contacted it. He is in total shock, saying sorry to hear that. He said he will be here for support for me, (as I do need all the help I can get). You wouldnt believe the distance I felt from him from his reaction..he was very silent. I am not sure where to go from here--he said he will call today, but I have a feeling that will not happen

Thanks for listening

He is probably just sad wishing you would have chosen him first... ya know?

You never know... maybe he just needs some time to think about things. A person that is really into YOU will see you for the person you are... your heart, etc. and will not be too overly concerned with the fact that you have herpes.

Please keep me posted, ok?

(((*Hugs*)))

Hey @Zrozpaczona9 that looks like folliculitis to me, that’s independent of the question of herpes. The doctor is wrong in the sense that a negative IgG test is beyond reasonable doubt that you do not have herpes. It is a small percentage of people for which a false negative occurs. The doctor is right to take a swab to increase your confidence that there’s no herpes present. I’m sure you’ll have your result soon.

In this forum we will discuss does lume work Lume is paraben-free and uses several natural ingredients like Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, tapioca starch, and Maranta arundinacea root powder (also known as arrowroot powder) to control odor and sweat. One of the key Lume deodorant ingredients is mandelic acid, an AHA found in skin care products, which also has an antibacterial effect.

Ibuprofen medicine is a painkiller. Can you take ibuprofen on an empty stomach  Some people take medicine empty stomach which is not good for our health. Because painkiller kind of medicine is very strong and can harm your liver. Medicine makes many strong ingredients. like Lactose, corn starch, hypromellose, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide (E171), and carnauba wax.
