Oral HSV2 transmission

Recommended Posts

I?ve never been diagnosed with oral HSV2 but in my mind I?ve had some strange symptoms (ie. itchy, redness, twitching, burning). My doctor says that it is highly unlikely to get it on your mouth and thinks I?m experiencing anxiety. But I?ve had these types of symptoms for several months on and off. So that being said, you can imagine my dismay when last weekend my friend stole a kiss from me while I was experiencing the itchiness on my bottom lip line. I work with this person and everyday I go in scared he?s going to have blisters all over his face. What is the likely hood that I have transmitted this to him??

By the way, I?m on suppressive therapy and it HSV1 has been ruled out.

I hope you can offer some advice as I?m losing sleep every night worrying about this.

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
