i'm in a real jam

when i told my boyfriend that it turns out i have type 2 herpes he really got mad at me. we have been together for 5 years, and until the blood test i had done at the beginning of this month i didn't know i had it. he acts like i knew the whole time. i keep trying to get him to get checked and he keeps coming up with excuses not to. well after i told him the day i got my results back i started contacting my exes, since the dr. said it could have been from anyone in my life time. so far i have been in contact with 2 so they know to get checked. one of them said that he would get checked ASAP. then as we talked he told me he wanted me back. that the herpes don't make a difference to him. now i am even more confused than ever. he never had any sores while we were together, so i doubt he is the one that gave it to me, so this was a real surprise. i don't understand how the guy i'm with could be so cold about it, and the one that broke up with me 5 years ago could be so understanding. i've been thinking about leaving my current boyfriend, but not to get with the ex. i want to get a place of my own while i sort things out in my head about everything. i don't want to rule out the option of being with my ex though since he is so understanding. he also says he wants to have a family with me. can i still do that? the ob is only once a year...same time period every year and it is only on my lower, inner thigh. i am so confused right now it isn't even funny. it's bad enough i never got over us breaking up, but knowing he still has feelings for me and wants to have a family with me when i have this going on with me just throws me through a loop. any suggestions?
