My partner has type 2 herpes on her mouth and below her waist. I just got type 2 below the waist from her a month ago. Does anyone know if I could get type 2 on my lip from kissing her? We have not been kissing until we know more. thanks for any comments.

what if the girl has 2 downstairs only.....can you still get it by kissing her....assuming no other physical contact? if she has 2 down there doesn't she have it anywhere...it's in her body.....so,....i'm confused.

Not necessarily... I have type 1 down below but not on/in my mouth. Or at least as far as I know. I've never had an outbreak on my lips or anything.

Type 1 home place is in the jaw of the mouth.

Type 2 home place is in the base of the spine.

However type 1 can reside in the spine and type 2 can reside in the jaw. Just b/c you catch it in that area doesn't mean it automatically spreads to the other. It can be spread during an outbreak if you don't keep your hands clean!!

So, if she has type 2 downstairs and not on her mouth you will be fine with kissing and oral. However I don't recommend oral or anything when she is having an outbreak.

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
