Hi all;

I recently found out that i have genital HSV-1. I got it from recieving oral sex from a guy i was seeing. but now my ex-boyfriend (not the one with HSV-1) wants to retry a relatioship with me. We love each other very much, but we broke up b/c our relationship was suffering due to our busy schedules. Now that our schedules are lighter we want to try again. We are both very health conscious (more like paranoid) when it comes to STD's. Now that i have herpes (your always faced with your biggest fears) i am so scared that he won't want to be with me. I'm thinking of not telling him and jsut never speaking to him again. i would tell him "i think its best we don't see each other again, but for your own good" and just leave it like that. I don't want feel the pain of HIM rejecting me. If it were someone else i wouldn't care so much. But i love him so much. Can anyone offer advice? please help. I would appreciate it.

Thanks In Advance

u say u love this guy. would u really be able to go through the rest of ur life wondering if things could have worked out? if he was possibly the one? it's hard to tell people u care about. i know. i was fortunate enough to find a guy who cares about me even more now because i was honest with him. you can still have a relationship even though u have herpes. initially he might be a little confused but you'd be amazed at how much people relax once they actually educate themselves on HSV. i wouldn't let the man i love slip through my fingers. :) good luck!

I told him

Thank you Lisa for your advice. I told him and he was very comforting. He told me he would be scared to ahve sex with me..but he was willing to learn more about the disease. He told me he wants to "try it out" meaning trya relationship with me having herpes.but I haven't heard from him in about 3 days. maybe he's busy or maybe he is jsut oo scared. I don't know. but i'm glad i told him. I feel much better. Thanks again. Take Care

      Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

      Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
