Don't trust H cultures!!

I had a culture done two weeks ago and the resulsts came back positive for HSV-1 but not HSV-2. I took and blood test and found out that i have both. I was already comfortable with having HSV-1 now i found out I have both. I feel horrible. My doctor didn't do a really good job of explaining my results. So im still confused! If the HSV-2 blood test come back with a number of 4.69 does this mean that I've had it for more that 3 months since the antibodies were detectable? I think that i contracted it last month from my last partner but i cann't be sure. I had a sore throat, yeast infection, fatigue, etc and i know that these symptoms are associated witht he first outbreak. do you get other symptoms besides blisters when you have reccurent outbreaks?

Were was the culture located? Was it an oral herpes outbreak or a genital herpes outbreak?

I took and blood test and found out that i have both. I was already comfortable with having HSV-1 now i found out I have both. I feel horrible.

There is no need to feel horrible about this. It's good that you know your status, don't you think?

Have you had some time to do some research? I noticed that it's been a couple of months since you posted. So, I'm thinking you may have had some time to let it all sink in. Have you?

The number just means that you have it.. that's all that it means.

There is no way you can be sure once the antibodies have developed. Does it really make that much of a difference who you contracted it from?

I don't get blisters when I have my outbreaks so I couldn't really say..
